So, all of a sudden, since last week, I've started getting the following error when I boot up:
Debian eth0 error: no such device on ifup eth0
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 10, 2007
I have an odd situation I was hoping you all could help me with. I had posted this to the wrong forum, where I discovered a noob error.
I have a vmware setup on a server I'm building, and during a shutdown process the system hung and I was forced to power it off. Now neither guest OS (both Debian) has /dev/eth0 or eth1 (board has two NICs) but the driver is loaded in the kernel (pcnet32). The device shows up correctly in dmesg and lsmod, nothing but "lo" shows in ifconfig, and when I try to bring it up using "ifup eth0" I get:
Boot error fsck.reiserfs failed Run Manually

I have a Compaq 1850R with three 9.1 GB HDD Partion into 2.
One System Partion the other a Virtual Partion with the other two drives.
Verson of Linux I installed: Suse 9.0.
The system was running well until I restarted, thats when I get the error mesg.
fsck.reiserfs /dev/sda2 failed (status 0x4). Run Manually.
fsck for root files system (/) failed.
Please repair it manually and reboot.
The root file system is currently mounted read-only.
Then it ask for the root password.
After I enter it a try to run fsck /dev/sda2.
And I get this message.
fsck.reiserfs /dev/sda2 failed (status 0x10).
I hope someone can help.

Broadcom Wifi card shows up as eth0, not solved by instructions from ubuntuforums
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 24, 2013
Hi. i'm new here. I'm not brand new to Linux or Ubuntu but I'm not experienced enough to know how, or figure out how, to fix this myself. As in this thread -- http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1966631, if I issue ifconfig wlan0 up I get a return of 'no such device'. I knew I had a wifi card, because I was using it, so I issued ifconfig, and, to my surprise no wlan card was listed. That is when I came to ubuntuforums and found the aforementioned thread which lists a set of commands, to repair the issue, which I followed. The result was no improvement as well as now I can not connect my machine to my network by WiFi. The small WiFi status icon on the upper dock (I use Gnome Classic) is still there, but it is "empty", as in, there are no little bars inside the field of the icon to indicate connection/signal strength.
Now I have two questions. The first question is; how can I get the wifi working again? The second question is; once I have repaired the WiFi connection, how

I am a new user to slackware. And decided to learn by installing the guest slackware in the slackware host. So I googled and found qemu-kvm the suitable one for the same guest and host os. So downloaded qemu-kvm at this site.
System specification:slackware 14.0
Then un-tarred the tarball and started to compile to get the package. But ended with error.
