I changed my wireless card and it finds my network and has a good connection but the browsers wont load the pages. I am sure there is a simple fix but I can't find it. Here is the content of the page that comes up....
This webpage is not available
The server at www.google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Chromium from accessing the network.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.
Check your DNS settings. Contact your network administrator if you're not sure what this means.
Try disabling network prediction by following these steps: Go to the wrench menu > Preferences > Under the H
Howto: setup a mail server in Ubuntu
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 7, 2005
I have rewritten my How to set up a mail server on a GNU / Linux system , which is now based on Ubuntu Hoary.
(Used to be Mandrake, but is now completely rewritten from scratch to use apt-get, The old one was listed on postfix.org)
It is a complete step by step guide to install, configure and run these packages:
Ubuntu + Postfix + Courier IMAP + MySQL + Amavisd-new + SpamAssassin + ClamAV + SASL + TLS + SquirrelMail
Not sure whether this should be in the server forum, but it is a howto hence the tips forum.
I must be wrong, but I could not see any other mail server howtos for ubuntu mentioned in the forums.
Feel free to send me comments.
All the installation and configuration sections are complete. Some of the later testing and appendix needs padding out, but as any other document it will forever be in development.

article on whether linux is more secure than windows
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 29, 2007
Does this article have an validity at all?
It even contradicts it self by admitting that linux is inherently more secure than windows...
I am greatly interested in what people think, whether it is true or a load of rubbish etc.
ATI vs NVIDIA
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 19, 2011
Well currently I have an Nvidia GTS 250 which is running fine. No complaints about it.. but I've been looking into bit coin, and bit coin mining seems like it could be fun and a really good learning experiance overall, so I was considering jumping on the bandwagon and going out and replacing my card with a 5770, but from what I remember ATI is notorious for having terrible drivers (and difficult to set up drivers at that) for linux... so what I'm wondering is if it's improved any over time, and would the 5770 be an upgrade for gaming.
basically what I'm asking:
has ATI's driver support improved over the past few years to be on par with Nvidia for things such a gpu accelerated h264 playback and running new games in wine?
Would an 5770 radeon be an upgrade over a GTS250 for playing games in wine?
