Ipod with linux
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 21, 2008
ok I have an ipod and the only program that would sync almost right was a windows program from red chair software. Now I found the perfect program (for windows ) Winamp, it will auto convert to mp3 with tags intact and also convert replaygain tags to soundcheck. I haven't tried syncing after the first sync to see if it will only add new instead of redoing all like a linux app I tried to use did. You see most of my collection is in FLAC now with replaygain info. Anyway on to why I am posting
I want a native linux app that will deal with the ipod as well as winamp does, oh and winamp also doesn't leave converted mp3s that won't play on the ipod like so many other software. I do not need the music player functionality. I have tried Floola, gtkpod and some others that will freeze or have some files that can't be played and NONE seem to do the soundcheck conversion. Any ideas are welcome thanks to all who reply

In kernel ver 2.6.10 ext3 filesystem as readonly
location: linux.com - date: October 2, 2010
I am using linux kernel 2.6.10 (from monta vista distribution)
One of the partition in our device which was formated with ext3 file system, was re mounted with readonly access after couple of months run.
It was working fine for couple of months.
After browsing I had found out that there is a bug in kernel.
I know i should perform fsck on the file system to recover.
My question is what is the reasons for file system to remount read only.
This situation is realy annoying for us. we don't want this situation to ever occur. What are the precautionary measurement we need to take care. Is there any bug fix done in later kernel w.r.t to above bug.
It would realy appreciated if some one throws light one this

Linux 401: intermediate system administration skills
which I'll probably take in succession.
So I thought I would share
