Can't send out any mail in all my email clients
location: linux.com - date: April 23, 2010
The other day, my KlamAV anti virus program stated it had intercepted a virus in my evolution Mail program, which when I open to view my mail, the last received mail in the inbox, unopened was right after my anti virus scan. I have been online with Evolution techs, with no results or clues to the problem. After checking all the available mail clients installed, each of them can receive mail, but not one of them can send it out with my smtp account settings. The outgoing port is the same with all [ 25 ] this is showing in evolution, kmail, thunderbird, and a host of others I intentionally installed to test. Now, I have a virtual guess windows setup [ Vista, with outlook, and the mail functions are ok, both receive and send. Whatever my anti virus program detected, as I quarantined the results, nothing the hell works in relationship to sending mail. How can I reinstall the proper mail files needed in Linux, Ubuntu 9.10 or is there a repair feature on my cd or a diagnostic program I can

Does anyone know of a decent SVN client for Gnome with Nautilus integration? Tortoise SVN works very well but is Windows only and I can't find anything like that.
Make Over: home system migration

This won't be brief, but let me start by saying that I do have some *nux experience, albeit from no less than 7 years ago. I will say that Linux does not scare me, even in command line mode. I'm here because I have specific requirements that the general 'pros n cons' discussions just don't answer except on an individual basis and with too many answers to evaluate for each. Not to mention alot has changed in the Linux community since the last time I dabled and I don't want to waste my time to later find out that there was a better choice to be made.
I have several machines in a home networked environment all running some version of a popular alternate OS. And a Mac Book, which isn't up for discussion according to my wife, though I think that is just fine since she runs the house and I only run a few segments of it. Ok, maybe just one segment. And hell, it already has a flavor of *nux on it.
I have 2 Toshiba Satellite laptops with the params as indicated in the attached pdf.
Ubuntu 13.04 refuses to detect my exFAT or NTFS external drive!!!
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 31, 2013
As above, I've tried using exFAT as well as NTFS for the external hard drive.
I installed exFAT-Fuse as well as NTFS-3G but Ubuntu STILL won't notice the external disk when I turn it on.
I've plugged the external disk into a windows PC and it notices it right away.
Need some help here.
Email Server Setup
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: December 6, 2011
I want to setup an email server on my ubuntu 11.10 vps using postfix, dovecot and mysql.
I have found a couple of guides about how to do it...
one of theme is here http://library.linode.com/email/post...10.10-maverick
...and one another GREAT guide here...
However, all the guides I have found is for ubuntu 10.10 or for debian squeeze.
Im not able to follow those guides since the Dovecot version for all of those guides is 1.x, while my ubuntu 11.10 server have Dovecot version 2.x
The Dovecot configuration differs between version 1.x and 2.x, therefore Im not able to fully follow the guide and complete my setup successfully.
Does anyone knows a similiar guide which is written with Dovecot version 2.x in mind? Or is there anyone willing to translate one of the above guides to version 2.x ?
Thank you so much...

I am really new to Ubuntu and wonder if it needs protection like XP does? In XP I have Kaspersky Internet Security, is there an equivalent in the world of Ubuntu?

E: Package 'sunjava6jdk' has no installation candidate

I know this question has been asked a multitude of times and I've read and tried the various suggestions and the frustration continues. When I tried Open JDK that worked but I am new at this and the tutorial I'm following is specific about using the Sun JDK. I have added the ppa because I know Ubuntu had some licensing issues but I still get this.
sudo apt-get install git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool
