unable to boot slax from ipod shuffle
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 27, 2007
I seem to be having an issue trying to boot slax (or any pendrive distro) from my ipod shuffle. The point at which I'm running into problems is that I'm trying to make the shuffle bootable. I keep getting errors when trying to use syslinux. I can't remember all the urls I've looked at, but heres some:
http://www.slax.org/

Everything I try seems to go well until its time to format the mbr of the shuffle or make it bootable in some way. usually with permission problems. Can anyone confirm if this is even possible or make any suggestions?
trying to build netsurf for slackware and slax
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 12, 2009
NetSurf is a free, open source web browser. It is written
in C and released under the GNU Public Licence version 2.
NetSurf has its own layout and rendering engine entirely
written from scratch.
It is small and capable of handling many of the
web standards in use today.

i even tried a hard line and still can get no connection. however when i boot the usb from my desktop i can connect fine.
i have a feeling it has to do with my network adapter drivers, but im not completely sure. i have messed around with it a little but i honestly have no idea on how to get the drivers to work with slax. plz help
my network adapters are...
1) Broadcom 802.11 Multiband Network Adapter.

Hello,

Best wireless chipset for almost every distro? Slax OOTB?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 2, 2013
I would like to buy a few mPCI nics for some older notebooks so I can run about any distro with blanket support for a wireless card/chipset. My lady's mom is getting one of these, so I thought I'd drop in something I might have a backup for so I want to buy a few in case of a nic failure, and future use too.
Is there a card/chipset that is supported OOTB (drivers built in to the kernel?) across the board, as I mainly wish to run lean distros like Slax 6.*, and 7.* for one-trick-ponies and these will most likely be donated to family members as such.
I do not want her to have to screw with ndiswrapper if there is ever an issue, and I didn't like it either.
Please advise.
Slax Linux Live Boot CD Router problems
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 2, 2008
After about three hours attempting to even get slax on the CD-RW I finally did, got it up and running. It works great although I seem unable to connect to my wireless router. It also does not detect my Ethernet cable either. I have absolutely know idea what do to. This is about the third time I have had the opportunity to use a Linux system other that fedora at my cousins house and am completely lost. Someone please help me.
(also, if there is a link with a printable guide or something that would be so awesome of you to PM the link to me.)
Oh almost forgot. I have a netgear wireless router with 4 port switch.
I have the standard Ethernet stuff that came with my dell all the way back in 2001 (wow i feel old saying that) and a new Netgear super G wireless PCI card.
If any other specs of my PC help just let me know.
Thanks for reading.
