ADB Mouse Synaptics Patch
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 11, 2012
Bonjour
i've got a powerbook g4 with an ADB-Toupad. Under 10.5 OSX i was able to use 2-finger-scroll with iScroll2. Under Xubuntu 12.04 it isn't working, because my Touchpad is recognized as an ADB-Mouse and not as a synaptic touchpad. After i spent hours in searching a solution i found this patch http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=380884 ... sadly the link is offline (file caled adbsyn...diff). it says that the patch makes it possible to use the synaptic-driver instead of the adb-mouse-driver.
could anyone help me please to get this thing running?
thanks in advance
Best way to get SDK, ADB working on Ubuntu 12.04
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 11, 2012
I been trying to read up on this subject, but it seems like here (Ubuntu Forums)is where I will get the best answer to my questions.
A. Which version of the Java JDK works best on Ubuntu 12.04 (JDK 6 or 7)
B. How would I get the Android SDK set up properly to allow the use of the adb and fastboot commands so I can give commands to my phone through the computer.
C. Will this allow the use of the Android Emulators from the SDK to function properly.
[SOLVED] Android USB drivers on linux (adb device missing)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 2, 2012
Hey,
I have recently starting developing an app using eclispe in ubuntu. I now want to try and run it on my phone but my version of linux doesn't currently recognise my phone. I have had a little look about and found some help on the Internet that says I need something called "adb device". It is currently missing from my /android-sdk-linux/tools folder (where apparently it should be), however platform tools is fully installed in the SDK manager. Has anyone else had similar difficulty when developing using linux or does anyone know where I might be able to find what I need?
Thanks!
Configuring / Plugging a usb modem to Slax...
location: linux.com - date: October 23, 2009
Hello.
Ok. I'm pretty new at this. So again, bear with me...
I have a laptop with a faulty HD. I'm running Slax on a LiveCd.
I'm trying to install a usb modem but of course, something isn't working...
So, basically there are a couple of questions here...
1) Can it be done? Considering that it's running from the CD...
2) I'm assuming that I have to "mount" the usb modem but I don't have the slightest clue either where or how.
3) Although I just found out that the system already recognized the usb device (through KinfoCenter - USB Devices) still, I don't know how to enable it...
Thanx.

Hello everyone.
I'm trying to take a screenshot of Ubuntu Touch (build r100) via ADB according to this manual on wiki.
Here's what i got:
Code:
[email protected]:~$ adb root
adbd is already running as root
[email protected]:~$ adb shell /system/bin/screencap -p /tmp/screenshot.png
And then it just hangs and create empty file. Any idea? Thanks!

The best Remote Desktop software for SLAX...
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 13, 2013
A Quick question first, my understanding of Linux as of now is that Linus Torvalds developed the kernel and now all the other distributions and variation of hundreds of Linux version all share the same kernel as the one Linus Torvalds created, am I correct?
It's like any programmer can just take the kernel, customize with different desktops and programs and put a name on it like gugubuntu or something ???
So any Linux software for any version will work on any other Linux version?
In that regard, I'm using SLAX off of a USB drive just to use basic banking in internet cafes, and I need a software to connect to my windows 7 machine back home to see the desktop and share files, what are my choices? what is the best software I should download?
Thanking you all in advance.

Slax,Porteus,Salix,CDLinux booting frugal advices needed.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 2, 2011
I had CDL booted in frugal on NTFS and liked it but them have no forum in English.
Salix I was not intelligent enough to boot.
Porteus booted after me doing a radical change in boot code.
Is Salix that much better that I should try again or are they like clones to each other?
how I booted Porteus on the NTFS internal HDD in frugal install
title Porteus OS
rootnoverify (hd0,2)
kernel /porteusboot/vmlinuz rw
initrd /porteusboot/initrd.lz
boot
Maybe Salix boot as easily? Could you guys share how you boot Salix in frugal install on NTFS formatted internal HDD please!
When I tested Porteus then they recommended a more detailed boot code but that one gave error messages and failed to boot so I change to the one above. You most likely should have 0,0 instead of 0,3 porteus boot is the boot dir from the iso renamed to porteusboot to not mix it up with archiso boot and many other distros that also ahve their boot folders.
please wait...
