[SOLVED] Bash script: How to get script file name commands are executed from?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 8, 2008
Hi,
in Ubuntu 8.04 I have several bash scripts. I would like to write to log file script_file_name from witch command is executed from.
Sample:
--- script file: 1.sh ---
echo "1.sh" >> mylog.log
--- script file: 2.sh ---
echo "2.sh" >> mylog.log
Is there any command I could write:
echo "$get_name_of_this_scrip_file
Now if file get renamed I need to manually rename echo command in script file. I would like to avoid this renaming.

Abcuser

CUPS pdf printer change output file name
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 18, 2008
I'm sure there's an easy answer to this but i cant find it, i'm another guy trying to migrate from windows. In windows when i wanted to print somthing to pdf i would either use acrobat or cute pdf (ghostscript writer) to print to pdf in both cases you will get a box with option to change the name and the location to save the file. Is there anyway to do this in ubuntu? I can print to pdf using cups ok but it by default it goes in my pdf folder with no option to change that that i can see?

In GIMP Image editor, how to cut an image fr one file and add to another file?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 7, 2011
I just bought an airplane ticket, and they want me to print the front and back sides of my credit card and fax it to them. So I scanned the front and then back sides of the card into separate scans, and now just need to cut the image of the back of the card onto the file which has the front image, so it will print as one page. I have been playing with GIMP image editor which I've never used before, but can't seem to figure out how to cut the image of the back of the card from the one scan, and past it into the file which has the image of the front of the card. Silly I know! Can someone tell me how to do this?

How to search and replace file name characters
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 18, 2013
I have 2 TB of mp3 files in which I need to replace all instances of : and / in the file names within directories three or four levels deep with a dash (-).
I have no knowledge of any programming language and I'm not sure which tool would be the quickest/easiest to use.
Is there a simple way to do this?
[SOLVED] E: Internal Error, No file name for libss2 messing up aptget
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 1, 2012
The title pretty much says it, whenever I use apt-get I get this message after it: "E: Internal Error, No file name for libss2" messing up apt-get. It doesn't let me apt-get install anything or apt-get remove either. apt-get update works fine, though. I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04.
please wait...
