busybox .. applet not found!
- date: August 4, 2004
I wanted to use busybox on my system ,but I met some problems with it.
tmp]# /sbin/busybox addgroup
addgroup: applet not found
some other command also appeared the same errors ..xxx: applet not ound
but some not ...
Could I think the XXX(which applet not found) is not supported by current busybox version ? or what probably the errror is ?

tftpdhpa on Ubuntu 6.10 Error code 1: File not found
- date: August 22, 2007
I use a Linux machine to store Cisco IOS images and configurations. The TFTP service was recently migrated to this box as the old one (which was running Ubuntu 6.06) died.
I can get files OK but for some reason I can't put any files using TFTP. I have tried from LAN PCs as well as localhost.
Service is running:
:~$ netstat -ul | grep tftp
udp 0 0 *:tftp *:*
:~$ ps aux | grep tftp
root 22553 0.0 0.0 2100 308 ? Ss 19:08 0:00 /usr/sbin/in.tftpd -l -s /tftpboot
Here are the configuation files:
:~$ cat /etc/default/tftpd-hpa
#Defaults for tftpd-hpa
OPTIONS="-l -s /tftpboot"
:~$ cat /etc/xinetd.d/tftp
protocol = udp
port = 69
socket_type = dgram
wait = yes
user = nobody
server = /usr/sbin/in.tftpd
server_args = -l -s /tftpboot
Wubi Ubuntu install from download problem Install files not found
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 18, 2011
Hello - I am trying to install Ubuntu on my Toshiba Satellite 5205-S703 laptop with WinXP Home. The CD/DVD drive no longer works so I have to use the download installer. In fact, I hope to install Ubuntu to help me determine whether the CD/DVD problems are hardware or software related. The computer has no provision to boot from USB either. The download went fine, but as soon as installation started this error message popped up: "An error occured. Could not retrieve the required files. For more information, please see the log file: c:\docume~1\toshiba\locals~1\temp\wubi-10.04.1-rev190.log". I looked at the log and its contents are way above my pay grade. I can post it if that would help. Thanks!

Game CD not found using Wine and Mint13
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 20, 2012
I placed this thread here because it seems to be a question that a newbie would ask. I've been using linux for nearly 4 years now and have tried everything from Simply Mepis to Bodhi. I have been using Mint Julia for some time. I've been trying to upgrade to Mint 12 which uses Gnome3 which is heavily patched to resemble Gnome2. I've tried Cinnamon and Mate but have run into one major show stopper. When I try to play a game like Warcraft III during startup it throws a CD-Rom not found error. It installs fine and I've configured Wine to to locate the CD-ROM via the Wine Configuration utility. Nothing works but I've had great success with Mint Julia And Zorin 5. For some reason I encounter problems with the patched Gnome3 distro's.
Thanks in advance

[SOLVED] Ubuntu 12.10 grub error "file /boot/grub/i386pc/normal.mod not found"
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 26, 2013
And before you ask, yes I'm already aware that Ubuntu installs EFI Grub instead of Vanilla Grub. I am no newbie when it comes to Google. I've already tried reinstalling Grub, to no avail. I'm still getting the error message. Also tried insmod from the Grub Rescue prompt... that also gives that message.
By the way, I'm installing to an external USB drive.
I noticed something peculiar when I booted from my LiveCD, though - I can see the /boot/grub/i386-pc folder fine when I view my hard drive through the file manager (and the normal.mod is there), but when I try to view my hard drive through the terminal, the folders aren't there. It's like they're hidden. Is this the cause of the issue?
USB ubuntu booting configuration file not found
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 8, 2011
I'm having a problem booting ubuntu 10.04/11.04/11.10 (32&64) on my computer.
When I boot I get an error like :
>SYSLINUX ... H. Peter Anvin
>Configuration file not found
Then anything I try on the boot: line give me the error :
>Could not fin the kernel image ...
I tryed remaking my USB several times with different versions of ubuntu between 10.04 and 11.10 and in 32 and 64 bit. I followed the instructions here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...n/FromUSBStick
I also followed the instruction here http://www.pendrivelinux.com/error-c...l-image-linux/, but it didn't help.
The weird thing is that my usb boots perfectly from my comp at work and my roommate's computer, but it doesn't care for my computer.
I don't remember the complete specs, but it's an AMD with a P5N architecture mother board.
Anyone has an idea of what I can try to fix this!
