Google Chrome & Quicktime
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 29, 2011
Installed gecko-mediaplayer from terminal (it's also in synaptic package manager) and it ran perfectly.
Hey everyone, I've got a problem with Chrome and Quicktime movies (.mov and .avi).
For my work, I need to be able to view .movs in chrome, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've got mplayer, ubuntu-restricted-extras, w32codecs and the VLC plugin. However, When I look at an embedded .mov, I get this error;
This content requires the QuickTime Plugin. Download QuickTime Player.
Already have QuickTime Player? Click here.
I've tried all sorts, opening the file directly in Chrome, but that just takes me to download it, I've tried disabling the VLC plugin (saw that on another thread on here)but to no avail. Any help greatly appreciated!

Add Arabic & Persian support to the terminal
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 10, 2010
Terminal by default don't support Arabic well so we need to do some modification to allow it to work properly:
1- Install the following packages:
sudo apt-get install libfribidi0 libfribidi-dev
2- Download & install THIS package.
3- Open /usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop by any editor you like:
gksudo gedit /usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop
4- Add the following line to the end of file:
5- If you have a terminal icon in desktop remove and make a new one.
6- That's all.
Now you can work well with Arabic & Persian in the terminal. You can create files, folders in both languages in a proper manner & you can can see file & folders names correctly.
This also added Arabic & Persian support to xterm & PuTTY.

Can somebody explain SD card mounting in plain English, please?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 24, 2011
I've got an HP Mini, which I installed 10.10 Netbook on a few months ago, and have been trying to get my 4gb SD card to mount since I installed. I've gone to tons of threads and so on to find instructions I understand, but any that I did ended up not working. Can anyone explain how to get it to mount (not even automount, just mount, though it would be nice if I could get it to automount, too) either in plain terms or with screenshots if it's not able to be explained in plain terms?
Thank you so much if you can

firefox & translate.google.com (sayit button) & no sound
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 20, 2012
When I visit a site translate.google.com and type some word a button "say-it" speaker picture (span.jfk-button-img ) appears. But it doesn't play sound. It was working in past but after some updates (firefox updates) it is not working. Other sound in firefox, as playing youtube videos, works OK. Please does anybody know which MIME it is or which plug-in do I need?

Any idea how to take screenshot of Google autocomplete?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 2, 2012
Guys, I'm sure you all familiar with autocomplete feature in Google Search.
I want to take a screenshot when the autocomplete appears, I'm using Chrome browser.
The problem is when I type a keyword in Google, autocomplete is later emerged, but when I press Print key, autocomplete is disappeared. So I failed to take a screenshot of the autocomplete.
I also already tried to use Shutter but it also didn't work.
Any ideas to how to make it?
