location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 27, 2014
I just installed Linux Mint 16 on a quite old notebook with integrated 802.11 b/g wireless lan. I am never prompted that wlans are found nor could I configure a wifi network. There was a Windows XP installation on the notebook before I installed Mint and the 02.11 b/g worked fine then.
Here is some output:

location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 13, 2011

Unfortunately due to lack of hardware I also want to use this as a main PC.
Oracle enterprise Linux uses yum to install yum to install packages.
However a lot of packages e.g. GIMP and Alsa are not avaliable.
Apart from compiling from source any other I can install these packages?

[SOLVED] Creating Local Yum Repository in Oracle Linux 6
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 11, 2012
I created a local yum repository for my Oracle Linux 6 installation, but keep getting the error below whenever I user the 'yum clean all' command:
[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/cache/yum/x86_64/6Server'
The command I used to copy the packages from the oracle linux dvd to the local directory is:
# rsync -av /media/OL6.0\ x86_64\ Disc\ 1\ 20110203/ /repos/oraclelinux6
Could this be the problem? If not, then what could be?
Oracle Linux 6 Screen out of range
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 1, 2012
I just installed Oracle Linux 6 for an Oracle Server. I set it up with a GUI interface. I access the
box by using a switch. When I rebooted the system, the only thing that displays is "Out of Range, h.Frequency: 9.1 KHz, v.Frequency: 8.5 HZ". I can't get to anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Help with building a server with Oracle Linux 6.2
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 10, 2012
I am very new to building servers but looking at this forum, I am getting some confidence that I have help out here. After several googling and information overload, I got this site where I am presenting my request.
- I purchased an used dell server with 8GB ram and 146Gig harddrive.
- I booted the server with Oracle Linux Server 6.2 CD and stepped thru the instructions and completed the installation. I am in the root and able to do some basic commands.
- I am not sure about the following:
1. I have the Oracle db software downloaded but how do I get it over (copy it over either via CD/DVD or USB or Online)to the server and it?
2. How can I connect to the server via putty from my desktop. (I don't know if I configured correctly while I installed the Linux).
