location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 4, 2009
What are the best current RTS games? Warzone 2100 is fun, but its from 1999 and the graphics show this. Mainly interested in Linux native, but any others that work in wine are fine.(And maybe even windows if it is really good.)
I've found the rts/fps blend games fun also.
GOOD Linux games.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 30, 2005
I have decided to start this thread even tho there are some good game lists out there like the one at http://debianlinux.net/games.html they dont tend to show up the really good games, and that was one of the most frustrating things about the move to linux for me.... I need games to 'chill out'
So perhaps if youve played a good game on linux, then could you share it with us.
Ill add a few of my favourites...
Unreal Tournament 2004
- This game is not free, but it is one of the best i have played in a long time. The cds come with a linux installer its a DVD (6CD?) game. AWSOME graphics and online play. Basically you just run around killing everyone with many assorted weapons. There are vehicles from small little hovers to 4 people tanks.. plus a aircraft!. Ok well you will have to experiene it yourself.
Quake 3
- This is another commercial one, and its a little on the old side, but still kicks a$$. ID Software released a linux point release for quake 3 so yet another gre

location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 6, 2010

I don't play games too much but every now and then I like to fire one up and blow off some steam. I have a few favorites that I default to, but I am always searching for new games.
What are your favorite Linux Native games?
My native linux games keep going from full screen, to a small window and freezes
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 13, 2007
Hi Guys, I have a problem which is really annoying.
I downloaded a couple of native linux games, 1 is called Urban Terror, and the other is called Enemy Territory. While playing these games, about 10 minutes into it, the screen will go from full size, to a small window. The game is still going when this happens, but i can't do anything. so i have to ctrl atl backspace and reboot it.
Can anybody PLEASEEEE help me?? i've googled for days and can't find a solution to my problem. Other games i have like Counterstrike source through wine work fine. help help help would be appreciated if anybody can solve this for me. oh, and im running ubuntu gutsy gibbon/amd64 with nvidia 7600.
thanks.

Linux Games in XBMC?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 15, 2010
I am using XBMC on my HTPC in living room and I was reading this article about linking games inside of XBMC:
http://lifehacker.com/5523672/turn-y...o-game-console
This article is for Windows, but I want to do the same in Linux.
I was able to install that plug-in in XBMC, but how do I link some games this way?
I tried to link game like Mahjongg (I linked the file in application menu), but it gave me an error.
Did anyone done this here?

Best Linux distribution for me?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 25, 2009
What do you think is the best Linux distro for me?
The specifications of what I will be running it on:
2.6ghz Pentium 4 HT (soon to be 3.2ghz)
768mb RAM (will upgrade gradually to 4GB)
32mb nVidia Riva TNT AGP card
Integrated AC'97 Audio
120GB HD
Intel Pro 1000GT Ethernet PCI card
What I want to be able to do:
Use blackbox/fluxbox as window manager
Set up file sharing fairly easily (and be able to install Netatalk)
Video Splicing
General Web Browsing/Chat
Other than that, there is nothing else that I need to use this computer for. I want the distro to be as quick as possible, and I also do not want to be shielded from using root if I have to. I would like it to be stable too, and have packages that take virtually no effort to install.
please wait...
