xbox 360 and Linux, some unusual facts
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 18, 2005
Let me first start off by saying this is "NOT", I repeat "NOT" for xbox or microsoft bashers. If you don't like microsoft don't post.
I did however want to post some interesting information, and some of you that followed the SCO trials will know more of what I'm talking about. I recently found out that microsoft has put Power PC processors from IBM in the new xbox 360. This might not mean much, but I think it shows microsoft wanting to regain some credibility and clout with the company they seen as enemies.
Ironically enough, microsoft's website does not mention what kind of processor is in the new 360. However they do mention everything else about the system, the ATI video drivers, the amount of RAM and so on. The only point they mention about the processors, is that they are a custom three core processing unit. When I first read this I found it interesting that microsoft did not mention the manufacturer of the processor, now I think I know why. I
Xbox 360 Live + Linux (OpenSUSE)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 29, 2008
I am currently installing OpenSUSE Linux on my laptop. At the same time I am moving into a new apartment where I will need to setup Wireless connection for all of my internet items.
My question is, when you use Windoze, you can avoid having to buy Wireless adapter for the 360 by plugging your Ethernet cable into a Wireless connected PC and sharing the connection. Are you able to do the same kind of thing w/ Linux? If so, could someone point me in the right direction? I am slightly functional w/ command line and always willing to learn. Thanks.

What is the correct Visual Studio setup for developing/debugging an Xbox 360 game under Windows?
I don't have an Xbox at hand all the time, so I have to be able to debug the game under Windows and on the Xbox.
Xbox 360 for linux programming
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
somehow I got an xbox 360 4gb as a gift. I am not interested in videogames, I just wonder whether some linux version could be installed on it, and then use it at home for programming, using the same tools I use at work (kdevelop, kile, gcc, etc).
I surfed the web a while ago, but found just confusing info, do you think it is possible?
Xbox 360 C# game programming on Ubuntu?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 31, 2011
I know one is supposed to download XNA Game Studio to program games for the Xbox 360, but I am pretty sure it does not work on Linux. My question is will MonoDevelop or some other C# IDE support porting your games to the xbox?
Thanks for reading.
