Or do I have to always launch it with sqlplus someuser/
[email protected] ?
I have set the ORACLE_SID to the correct string (same as somehost above). is there something else I need to set?
Sorry I am a complete noobie! I did get Oracle 10g on Fedora Core 2 though (Phew!)

Hi
I am using Ubuntu 13.10 [64 bit] and wonder if it is possible to use the Thunderbird Calendar Lightning 2.6.2 as the default calendar application. Today the only option is Evolution.

How can I make NumPy use OpenBlas in Ubuntu?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: May 1, 2015
I have both BLAS and OpenBLAS installed:
$ dpkg -l \*blas\* | grep ^i
ii libblas-dev 1.2.20110419-7 amd64 Basic Linear Algebra Subroutines 3, static library
ii libblas3 1.2.20110419-7 amd64 Basic Linear Algebra Reference implementations, shared library

ii libopenblas-dev 0.2.8-6ubuntu1 amd64 Optimized BLAS (linear algebra) library based on GotoBLAS2
However, NumPy still says that OpenBLAS is not available:

library_dirs = ['/usr/lib']
language = f77

How can I change the default version on Python on linux in order to install and use certain modules?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 14, 2014
I am using Linux Mint Nadia and have both Python 3.2.3 and Python 2.7.3 installed. I access each using IDLE and have some modules that only work on 1 version. I think the default version is 2.7.3 because this is what appears when I type "python" in the terminal.
I am trying to install scipy for python3. Despite following all the instructions on the scipy webpage, including downloading and unpacking it, making sure I have dependencies, and finally using
python setup.py install
I received an error regarding BLAS, which another person experienced:
Python scipy needs BLAS?
I installed setuptools and tried to use easy_install as well as followed the 34 positive vote answer on the above link, which did not work either, and finally used the 21 vote instruction
apt-get install python-scipy
which finally worked, but installed it for python 2.7.3. I need to use scipy on python3 and believe that the easiest way for me to do this would be to change the default python on my linux and then
the name of a software in linux which can make one console windows use many shell by switching between them [closed]
location: linuxexchange.com - date: August 13, 2012
I remember there is a software in linux. When I open one console window, I can have many "console"s or shells. But they are all in one windows. By press some keys I can switch shell between them. Without opening a new console, all I need is one window.
I forget the software's name. Could you help me to remind it?
Actually I feel that using putty connect to a server can only open one console per each inputing password is a quite waste of time.
I want to have many shells by opening putty only once.
I wonder whether linux server support that or putty support.

How can I set the default desktop to KDE in CentOS 6.4?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 20, 2013
I always run KDE, and under CentOS 6.3 I could set the default desktop to KDE by setting /etc/sysconfig/desktop to
DESKTOP="KDE"
DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"
This does not seem to work under CentOS 6.4. I tried changing DISPLAYMANAGER to KDM but that didn't work. I've tried other variations as well, but I always get gnome. What has changed in 6.4 that's preventing me from getting KDE?
