Cannot Set date.timezone In php.ini file
location: linuxexchange.com - date: December 8, 2013
I'm using php5.5 and getting this error whenever I used the date function in PHP:
Warning: phpinfo(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected the timezone 'UTC' for now, but please set date.timezone to select your timezone. in /var/www/info.php on line 1
the loaded configuration file is here:
so I changed the date.timezone setting into this:
; Defines the default timezone used by the date functions
date.timezone = Asia/Jakarta
;date.default_latitude = 31.7667
;date.default_longitude = 35.2333
;date.sunrise_zenith = 90.583333
Cannot set time/date to other time zone than UTC (Kubuntu)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 23, 2005
My install of Kubuntu seems to have some sort of bizarre UTC fetish...
It will automatically sync to UTC on startup. I went to the Unofficial Ubuntu Startup Guide and followed the instructions on how to change a line in the /etc/default/rcS config file from "UTC=yes" to "UTC=no". The default setting was already "UTC=no". The next step instructs you to change the time zone from UTC to the correct time via the Settings menu in KDE. When I attempt this and try to apply the changes, it goes right back to UTC from central time. I've tried setting it manually, and I've tried different time servers with no success. I've tried to restart the clock script (hwclock.sh) and this does not seem to help.
I've searched this problem on Google, and the articles I find point back to this fix that does not seem to work for whatever reason. Is there anything else I can try? If I can't beat Kubuntu into submission, is there a way I can disable the time-server syncing pr
Hardy rt2860 cannot set essid and key
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 3, 2008
Am using Hardy on Znote 3215W with zpro2 wireless card. For the last 14 days I have tried to get it to work, searched forums and tried solutions, but to no avail. At the moment the situation is this: I have installed windowsdrivers from ralinktech with ndiswrapper.
$ndiswrapper -l tells me:
rt 2860 driver installed
device (1814:0781) present
After trying network tools and wicd I have stuck with wicd. It is able to find wireless networks, included my own, but not to connect. The problem seems to be that essid is set to "any" and encryption to "off". But not in the GUI - essid and key show up! I try to set essid and key with
iwconfig, and I get no error messages. But when checking again with iwconfig nothing is changed. It is still essid any and key off.
Any suggestions as to how and where I can set the correct parameters?
Luckily my cabled network is ok - but I'd like to get rid of the cables...
Cannot set an Atheros AR9285 wireless card (ath9k driver) to master mode
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 9, 2010
I've been trying to set up a router, following the directions on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Router. Unfortunately, the darn wireless card is acting up. Despite the information on http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ath9k, every attempt to set it into a master mode results in this error:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode master
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
I tried to look around, but most of the identical problems seem to be 2 to 4 years old, and the workarounds mentioned refer to webpages lost to time.
Cannot set correct display resolution Lenny
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 16, 2009
I installed Debian Lenny with KDE 3.5.10 last week. My graphics card is nVidia geForce 5950 Ultra and my monitor is an Iiyama Vision Master Pro 454.
I've installed the nVidia driver 173.14.09-5 using synaptic. I've used this driver with OpenSUSE and Ubuntu and I've had no problems getting the monitor detected correctly and setting a suitable resolution - 1600x1200 @ 85mhz. All did was install the driver and the nvidia settings. Restart. Open a terminal as root, type "nvidia-settings" change the resolution and save it to xorg.conf. Restart the x server and everything worked without a problem.
I have struggled to do this with Debian Lenny. When I tried to open the nvidia settings as above I get an error message:
No protocol specified
ERROR: The control display is undefined; please run `nvidia-settings --help`
for usage information.
Ok, my monitor isn't identified. I go into Control Centre/Peripherals/Monitor & Display and my graphics card is identified o
Cannot set static IP address in netinstall
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 20, 2013
I'm trying to install ubuntu on a server using net-install, remotely.
I have no choice to use net-install.
My IP is static. I have a problem. The DHCP autoconfiguration fails. In fact ubuntu install "thinks" it's ok but it's not.
So I redo "configure the network" and... well, I cancel most auto config part and it then asks me to configure the network manually which i do.
However, it's quite idiotic, as the manual config menu doesnt prompt me for the broadcast IP. It sets the broadcast IP in /etc/network/interfaces to x.x.x.47, while I need x.x.x.48
And obviously, I cannot download any package because of this.
No ifconfig either, it's a very minimal CD. I'm stuck.
WHat the hell can I do?
Thanks (a lot!)
Xenserver + Rescue Mode + Cannot set root password.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 30, 2013
I have recently re-install my xenserver remotely via a webpage which my domain provider gave me. The installation went smooth and to access my server i have to create a ssh key to access the server without password. This one when smooth too but I can't create a root password for the server. I read that i have to mount the root partition. But i can't find it. I do << fdisk -l >> and the output is :
