How start apache in centOS 7
- date: January 1, 1970
I was starting Apache using this command : service httpd start in centOS6
Today I did download centOS7-64bit-minimal and wanted to start Apache after installing this.
When I use service httpd start, os will show me a message says:
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl start httpd.service
Should I use [[email protected]
#] /bin/systemctl start httpd.service??
I tried [[email protected]
#] systemctl start httpd.service and it seems it's OK, but in the centOS6, there was starting status with something like [OK] or [FAILED] after starting httpd or something like that, but in this version, there is no report...
Am I in right way?
Is httpd started correctly after this command :
#] systemctl start httpd.service ?
Thanks in advance...

CentOS: how to launch it into rescue mode?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 23, 2008
I dual boot my machine between XP and CentOS with GRUB in MBR.
I did something wrong with grub.conf, and ever since I can't boot XP. So, re-instated XP MBR using XP boot disk.
Now I am trying to get CentOS back. I booted the machine with CentOS disk, and selected F5 (rescue), but it doesn't go into same rescue mode like other linux installations. It goes into a phase where I have to select partitions to format etc which is uncalled for. Reclaiming MBR is not such a great step and I have done it with FC and Ubuntu before. But in CentOS Is there a simpler step I might have missed when getting into Linux rescue mode?
[CentOS] How do I set global proxy on a server
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 20, 2008
I am trying to set up a CentOS Server at my work in the lab. I can connect to the server fine from my laptop, and from the server to my laptop. But to connect to the internet we have to go through a proxy server. This requires a username and password. Is there a file where I can set a global proxy(HTTP, FTP, SSL, Gopher) so I can get the server updated and ready for it to be used in the lab environment.
Any help would be appreciated.
