Do any game developers target intel HD graphics?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 5, 2012
Do any game developers target Intel HD4000 graphics processors? Like, optimize their games specifically for that unit?
I would like to develop an open source game that is aimed specifically at Intel HD4000 graphics processors.
Does anyone have recommendations for where to start? Lol... I have no experience in game design.

NFL Gamepass HD on Ubuntu
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 20, 2008
I'm totally new to Ubuntu and it's years since I last used linux and I never were much of a guru
I'm setting up a media pc (hooked up to my projector) and wanted to use Ubuntu if possible. But I need to be able to watch the NFL Gamepass HD stream (demo of the stream here) and it requires Windows (or Mac) os and either IE or firefox.
I managed to install a Windows firefox version under Wine and was able to actually start the stream, but it totally messed up the videocard and all colors shifted and I had to reboot to get it in order again.
So, is there a better way of emulating either IE or firefox running on Windows OS under Ubuntu? Something that might work with this stream?
I apologize if I should be able to figure this out myself, but as said I'm totally new and even though I'm interested in learning, I'm not so eager to spend hours or days figuring out Ubuntu to realize it's not even possible.
ATI Radeon HD Can't play games with Wine
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 25, 2011
I'm having trouble running games in Wine since I've switched video cards. Thing is, benchmarks work fine and I downloaded 3dMark2000 and it works fine while running in Wine. I'm a gamer and I'm about to put down Ubuntu for good, i don't want to go back to Windows, but I'm afraid I may have to if I can't find a remedy.
Any help at all would be appreciated.

Hello all, I just bought a new laptop and long story short I needed to upgrade the kernel to 3.4.4 to have a usable system.

3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3720QM Processor (2.60 GHz 6MB L3 Cache)
Intel HD Graphics 4000

Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN + Bluetooth Combo
It came pre-installed with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit. My goal is to get Slackware up and running on it. I installed Slackware64-current (Sat Jun 16 16:19:36 UTC 2012) using a USB boot stick and external hard drive with no problems.
First problem: Unable to boot using KMS. The beginning of the boot process works (I can see text flying by), but as soon as the screen is resized the display goes black and occasionally flashes.
Solution: Boot with the "nomodeset" parameter. I'm even able to startx from here to start KDE. This works for both generic and huge kernels.

Anyone else get this problem or know how I can get around it?
I'm only a newbe but willing to learn so don't be afraid to ask for more info or give me a complicated solution.
Ubuntu 13.04 live cd won't boot
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 21, 2013
I am trying to dual boot ubuntu with windows 8 using the guide from this link:
However, When I get to the grub page to "try ubuntu" it doesn't boot at all, same goes with the capability mode.
I have secure boot, fastboot and fast startup disable as per the directions. Bios is in uefi mode.
