Fedora Core 4, source compile kernel 2.6 (jane)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 8, 2005
I'm trying to compile a new kernel on a FC4 distribution (Stentz). I have the FC4 kernel config file that was used to compile the FC4 kernel. What I want to do is compile a plain kernel (eg, from kernel.org). The problem is that when I run 'make menuconfig', I receive several errors of the following format: "trying to assign nonexistent symbol".
Here are some:

Clementine can't add files to Ipod Classic

Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit, Clementine 1.01
I'm unable to add files to my ipod classic 80gb using "copy to device" (or any other method). I can play existing music from the Ipod through Clementine, but unable to add/edit/delete files. I receive the following message:

Clementine Doesn't Properly Sync to Ipod
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: December 28, 2011
I have a 5th Generation Ipod and am trying to sync it with Clementine.
Instead of Clementine modifying the Ipod database, it just copies the music files over as if it were a hard drive. The Ipod cannot play files back this way.
I also don't even get the option to tell it to convert music files to an Ipod friend format. I can either tell Clementine to not convert or convert everything (the middle choice is grayed out).
Are these inherent issues with Clementine and Ipods?
I've tried Banshee, Rhythmbox, and Amarok and do not like any of them.
Banshee freezes a lot.
Rhythmbox works, but doesn't move album art over to the Ipod.
Amarok freezes a lot too, and the UI is silly.
I like Clementine so far, but I downloaded for use with the Ipod and it's not working correctly so far.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have Ubuntu 11.10 and the most recent version of Clementine.

Q: Tutorial for Clementine, to import an iTunes library and more ?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 1, 2014
I just downloaded Clementine v 1.2.3. Installation was a breeze. After a fast-forward to discover its interface, I looked for contextual help, for an F1 type help, for a manual; nothing, not even a dedicated forum. Incredible.
A few years back, a bunch of users were all warm and fuzzy over the idea of writing a tutorial. Nothing seems to have come out it. Anybody knows of one ?
In case nothing crops up, I have one pressing question:
I come from Win XP and iTunes. I am also the (now not so) proud owner of an iPod Classic 120GB (6th gen). My music, videos, pictures, podcasts and audio-books are all in the corresponding iTunes library. They are also at home onto a dedicated HDD sitting on my desk at home. Music appears mainly as mp4 aac, not so much as mp3.
I have no DDR problem because I never bought that music from a digital store. Every track I have in my iPod also exist physically on shelves as CDs.
I want to import everything (not just music) into Clementine. I don't care about
Clementine Album Art
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 8, 2011
So I've started using Clementine as my default music player and it works great. The only problem I've been experiencing is that I can't seem to get it to display album art for certain albums/songs.
If I listen to an album that already has album art assigned to it, the art is displayed normally and everything's fine.
However, if I listen to an album that doesn't have album art assigned to it, I can't seem to assign art to it at all. I've tried going to a song's properties dialog and clicking "load cover from URL...". I enter an image URL, but no cover is assigned.
When I open Banshee, it seems to automatically fetch covers for each album, but upon opening Clementine again, the art still isn't there.
How can I assign album art in Clementine?
Extraneous noise from speakers ( Clementine )
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 11, 2013
Today I had this low frequency humming (at high volume with Clementine open but stopped, sounded like a jet engine. Turns out that somehow I managed to get the Clementine audio test wave on. Couldn't see that. Downloaded the Pulse Audio volume control, here I could see 2 entries fro Clementine, I disable the audio test and its fixed. Interesting to note, asll other sound devices had no background noise, just Clementine.Hope this helps someone. Cheers!
