Clementine playlist umlaut issue
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 21, 2011
First off, I'm running Clementine 0.7 r3213 on Natty w/ classic desktop. I love Clementine and won't let this keep me from using it; It's just kind of annoying.
Whenever I queue up any songs from an album or artist whose name contains an umlaut, it gets double-queued (attachment #1). Fortunately, only one copy of each song plays as it should and the other is greyed out after it's skipped. I've retagged all my songs with EasyTag, and they all work fine in Rhythmbox and Banshee. When I go to edit the track info in Clementine, the greyed-out file has the diamond-shaped icon with a question mark instead of the umlautted character (attachment #2) even though it doesn't actually exist in the album's folder. The correct file shows the correct filename (attachment #3). A full library rescan doesn't fix anything.
Thanks for any help.

Hello, I've been using Clementine as my primary music player for a few months now. I run "vanilla" ubuntu 11.04, which means GNOME and Compiz.
I often have a problem where the menus won't appear correct in Clementine, which is the only QT app I use:
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Conky Clementine Python Script
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: December 14, 2010
ArchLinux : Package support is present in the AUR. All my packages can be seen here: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?SeB=m&K=kaivalagi
Ubuntu/Debian : All the script packages have now been copied into the Conky Companions PPA. Any package updates will be provided by the team through this new ppa. The ppa can be found here: https://launchpad.net/~conky-companions/+archive/ppa. To use this ppa first delete the old ppa files using this:
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/m-buck* && sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/conkyhardcore*
Then follow the modified first post instructions for the scripts
This is a simple script to display what is current playing in Clementine. The script talks to Clementine using dbus, and allows the outputting of track info and the use of templates...
There is a README with the install, I suggest you give it atleast a quick once over! It can be found in the installation folder, normally following the path of /usr/share/conky<scrip

I just went through and added most of my music library (on an external drive) into a clementine playlist. is it nessecary for me to save that playlist for it to stay? i have the options set in the preferences(music library) to scan my external drive, but is that going to keep all the songs in the playlist field or will that just pop up the artist folders in the library (on the left) each time i start up clementine?
basically is there a way to keep my music library in the playlist field so i don't have to go through and load those songs/albums up each time, or is that not possible and just one of the draw backs of playing music through an external drive?
