ClickOnce manual Update completes but doesn't update
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
I have a VSTO Excel Template project that is Installed/Updated by ClickOnce. If I run an automatic update it updates fine, but I would like to give the user the option of a manual update.
The problem is that executing ApplicationDeployment.CurrentDeployment.UpdateAsync (or .Update) does not result in any errors, but the deployment simply just doesn't update. The version number in Add/Remove programs stays the same, and even more unusually the ApplicationDeployment.IsNetworkDeployed flag switches to false.
Thus it seems that the only effect of running .Update is to set IsNetworkDeployed to false.
The full code is a bit long, but basically it boils down to:
Private Sub ThisWorkbook_Startup() Handles Me.Startup
Dim info As UpdateCheckInfo
If ApplicationDeployment.IsNetworkDeployed Then
Dim AD As ApplicationDeployment = ApplicationDeployment.CurrentDeployment
info = AD.CheckForDetailedUpdate
If info.UpdateAvailable Then
Aptget update runs without errors but doesn't really update package list
- date: January 3, 2015
Since i installed 14.10 64 bits, three weeks ago, I never got any package to update. When I do apt-get update, I won't get any error, but updating of the package list is very fast and downloaded sizes seems very small, so i think it's not updating anything.
When doing apt-get upgrade, it never find anything.
Here is the output of apt-get update, in French but I guess you will figure it out.
:~$ sudo apt-get update

Bluetooth headset connects, but doesn't work
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 3, 2012
I've got a bluetooth adapter plugged into my laptop. I can receive/send files to and from cellphones just fine, but whenever I try to use my bluetooth headset it simply connects to the adapter and then that's it.
It doesn't output any sound to the speaker of the headset and it doesn't input any sound via the microphone.
The headset connects and actually inputs/outputs sound if I'm on Windows, but when using Ubuntu 12.04 it won't input/output anything once it connects to the adapater.
Aircrackng Captures WPA Handshake but Doesn't Display
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 20, 2011
I have more of an annoyance than an "issue". When testing my own home network I noticed airodump-ng doesn't tell me when I'm capturing a WPA handshake. There's been no updates to Aircrack-ng for a while so I wouldn't imagine the problem lies with Aircrack-ng. When I
airodump-ng --channel 11 --bssid BL:AH:BL:AH:BL:AH -w foo mon0
aireplay-ng --deauth 7 -a BL:AH:BL:AH:BL:AH -c HA:HA:HA:HA:HA:HA mon0
it used to display "WPA handshake" or whatever in the airodump-ng window. Now I can't tell if my captures are successful or not until I run them all through
aircrack-ng -w wordlist.lst file.cap
This didn't used to happen - it used to tell me when I was performing a WPA handshake.
Also, I'd like to know if anyone has been able to patch iwlagn to play nice with compat-wireless? It seems like some compat wireless versions build, some don't. Some completely take away my wlan0 and eth0 when I install them. And many others just plain do
Wirless network does not download, but doesn't disconnect
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 4, 2012
The problem is as wierd as it sounds. It connects to the network fine. It downloads fine (up to 300kb/s says the system monitor). But the, all of a sudden it stops downloading. It doesn't disconnect, it just simply doesn't download anything. reconnecting to the network resumes downloading for a little bit, but it is inevitable that it will "freeze" again soon.

Manual IPv6 Address Configuration Doesn't Work
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 16, 2010
After discovering this doesn't work on Fedora, I thought I'd give Ubuntu a try, and unfortunately it doesn't work on Ubuntu either. Worse, attempting to do it completely breaks IPv6 networking.
You can set the Method to "Manual" and then enter the IPv6 address and prefix you wish to use. Clicking "Apply" then causes all networking (IPv4 and IPv6) to go down, so you right-click the network icon at the top of the screen, disable networking, the enable it again. This brings back IPv4, but IPv6 is now only using link-local addressing. If you go back into the IPv6 settings, it's remembered that you wanted "manual" addressing (which is more than Fedora does!) but it seems to have forgotten the configured IPv6 address.
Once this has happened, I can't find any way to re-enable stateless autoconfig and get IPv6 connectivity back, but that's a side issue. What I really need to be able to do is manually configure the IPv6 address.
Is there any chance this will
Wireless Shows Connection But Doesn't Work
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 8, 2010
This is my first post, so hello to all of you and thank you for taking the time to answer!
I just installed Ubuntu on my windows pc with no problems....except for wireless that is.
I have a USB Linksys WUSB54G adapter to access my 2WIRE, WEP network.
The thing is, it shows up in the top right hand corner. It even gives me the signal strength. But when it comes to using Mozilla, it is never able to access a page.
If I try to Ping something, it's unable to.
So I thought maybe I need to use ndiswrapper with my .inf and .sys files from the driver for my windows.
I installed it, and added the driver to it...everything went O.K.
I check it and it says it's installed and working.
Again, I can see the wireless networks, and "connect" but when I try to use the connection there is nothing.
I have also tried my neighbours non-WEP connection, but it still doesn't work.
So I'm sort of at a loss with what I should do now.
I see the networks, can "connect" but can'
Minecraft starts, but doesn't show any graphics
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: December 28, 2013
I am trying to get minecraft to work on my ubuntu 12.04 LTS computer, but it doesn't exactly work correctly. When I click the "Play" button, the launcher goes away and the game window comes up. The music starts, and I can click on things and hear the clicking sound. However, my Minecraft window is completely white. It doesn't even show the Mojang logo. Note that I am not trying to play minecraft at this time, I just want to make sure it works. I have no idea what the problem might be. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated!
edit: A few days after I posted this, I came across this error log. Don't know if it will mean anything, but I wanted to give you guys as much info as possible.

Finds wireless network but doesn't connect
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 24, 2009
I'm a newbie using dual-boot with Windows XP and Ubuntu 9.04.
The only reason I don't change 100% to Ubuntu is because, for some reason, I can't connect to the wireless network. I'm living in an University Hall of Residence and using the public Wi-Fi, which has a very weak and insecure signal, but I can connect it with Windows.
In Ubuntu, it detects the network (although I have to click in "connect to hidden networks") but I doesn't connect. The ethernet wired network works perfeclty though.
Anyone could help me with this?
Medion external drive falls a sleep, but doesn't wak up
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: December 28, 2009
I've got a problem here with an external drive from Medion, it's the HDDrive 2 go ultra speed, of 1,5 TB.
It can be connected using e-sata or usb. I use the usb. At first I formatted the drive in ext4, and I tried it out.
It works, but... after a while it falls asleep when not in use. ubuntu karmic does not show it as 'unmounted' or 'disconnected', it stays visible in nautilus. I even can browse through the directories, but when something that is not read before is double clicked, I get the message that it can't read from source. The only way to revive the drive, is plugging out the power, and starting it up again.
Then I reformatted the drive to ext3.
Then I discovered that when starting up the computer with the external drive connected and powered up, it won't start up. Booting hangs before entering grub.
It is very annoying because I've put my music collection on the drive. Rythmbox just hangs when the drive falls a sleep. I guess it fa
