Corel WordPerfect 8 for Linux
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 2, 2001
Started recently with Linux but have been working for three years with Corel WordPerfect 8 for Windows. Understood through my web searches that there used to be a FREE version of Corel WordPerfect 8 for Linux available until December 1998. Was wondering if it is still possilbe to get a copy of the software somewhere because Corel themselves don't distribute it anymore.
Any help in this matter is highly appreciated.

I don't monitor this forum but about once a year now, but I thought the Linux community might be interested to see Linux support from a 3rd party commercial software provider.
Corel recently purchased Bibble Pro, jazzed it up a bit and re-packaged it as AfterShoot Pro. I've used it for a couple of years now for it's fast speed and other functionality.
The Linux Penguin is on the front of the box right along with the MS and the MAC logos.
Some people choose ONLY open source and others will use what ever they like (I'm the latter). I personally use Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenLibre, etc., but when it comes to certain specialized applications, I use what helps me get the job done the fastest and easiest regardless of the price or license.
In this case, Aftershot Pro(originally created using QT by a former gaming programmer who understood speed)runs incredibly fast on AMD multi-core processors. Faster than anything aroun

YouTube has a rather frivolous reputation, the sort of site you might visit to see a video of snowboarding hamsters or jetpacking gerbils. It wasn’t until I started re-learning the guitar, learning to play the piano too and sight reading sheet music that I began to realize that YouTube was a great source of online tutorials. The quality varies from the execrable to the sublime, but I found sufficient quality material to start wondering how I might best use YouTube to organize my digital music lessons. As a committed GNU/Linux user I wondered how to make the most of my distro’s ability to manage my viewing and download experience.
