Could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list!
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 11, 2004
Hey linux gurus...
I have been unable to boot my fedora core, and as you can read in the post titled "fedora wont boot, displays nvidia splash screen over and over" I had origianlly thought it was an nvidia driver or card issue. However, when I recently typed "startx" from the command line (in runlevel 3) I found the following error message after it went to the nvidia splash screen and then returned to the command line:
Could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list!
Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'
So I commented out the line
in XF86Config and typed startx. Now, the splash screen comes on for only a moment (as it used to) and then it goes the the black X cursor that you see when booting right before you see the boot progress. I almost jumped out of my seat, as I though it was fixed. But after about two seconds it went back to command line, and shows the following error
"Could not init font path element""Unix /: 7100 removing from list/

Sub: Error.. I got during Restart Linux System is " [drm-i830-wait-ring] *Error*Lookup"
What happened is I changed my IP Address and then restart my RHL System... here i got problem [drm-i830-wait-ring] *Error*Lookup"... I am not able to understand what is this and one more thing is at time of starting it said that "found one more Canna server" and run this command "rm/rmp/iroha_Unix/IROHIA" it doesn’t give me a much amount of time to login in Text based mode and it gives continuously error message" [drm-i830-wait-ring] *Error*Lookup"
anywhere I manage to login as i had one user account with a short name but I didn't run the "startx command" successfully... whenever I am trying to run this command it gives me an error message like
"Could not init font path element"
"Unix /: 7100 removing from list/Fatal IO Error (connection reset by peer"
Xvfb Error "Could not init font path element catalogue:/etc/X11/fontpath.d"
- date: July 19, 2011
I am trying to start X virtual framebuffer (xvfb) on one of my dedicated server which is not having a X server.
I installed Xvfb on the server, and when I am running the below command I am getting the errors.
~]# Xvfb :1 -screen 0 640x480x24 -nolisten tcp -audit 4 -auth X1.cfg & export DISPLAY=:1 &
~]# error opening security policy file /usr/lib/xserver/SecurityPolicy
Could not init font path element catalogue:/etc/X11/fontpath.d, removing from list!
Can anybody know how to fix this? My OS is Fedora 7.
could not init font path element Xvfb
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 9, 2004
I attempt to launch Xvfb in rc.local. I use the line:
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xvfb :1 -screen 0 160x120x8 &
This worked fine in RedHat 7.2. I am now using RedHat 9, and when that line executes, I get the following error message:
Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing from list!
I'm not actually sure yet if the Xvfb session is launching or not, but I don't think it is. Any idea as to what the cause of this error message is, and how I can fix it so Xvfb works properly and I don't get the error message anymore?
Edit: It appears that Xvfb is still running properly despite this error/warning, however I'd still be interested in what I can do to resolve the issue. Furthermore, I do have a path
but it is empty. Any ideas?

Gstreamer Error: pipeline could not be constructed: no element “v4l2src”
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
Am using Ubuntu(14.04) and I am getting this error while trying to use gstreamer.
gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src ! video/x-raw,width=640,height=480 ! x264enc ! h264parse ! rtph264pay ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5000
I have checked the gst-inspect-1.0 v4l2src
It say element not found "No such element or plugin 'v4l2src'"
What should I do ? From where can I get this element or plugin. I have tried resinstalling entire gstreamer. But am unable to do so.
Fedora 8 "Could not find kernel image" on install from CD
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 1, 2008
OK, I downloaded Fedora 8, Fedora-8-Live-KDE-i686.iso, from the Fedora Project site. (Error message says I'm not allowed to say exactly where that is ???)I created a CD. No errors through the whole process. I put the CD in the drive and booted the PC. The first thing on the screen (after BIOS messages) is:
ISOLINUX 3.36 2007-02-10 Copyright.... Could not find kernel image: linux
I also read somewhere that I could download a "mini image" that will download the rest of the install over the network. I can't tell you how long I have search for this and can find nothing. I can't use DVD images since the system I am trying to use doesn't have a DVD drive.
Before I try to download again I thought someone could help me get this thing off the ground.

How webkit3 resolve its primary font on Linux?
(Got a segmentation fault in libwebkitgtk-3.0. Anybody has seen similar problem? Is there a way to work-around it? How to debug or fix it with minimal change to the system?)

“Could not find schema information for the element” but my schema file does contain information for the element
location: linuxexchange.com - date: August 5, 2011
I'm trying to work with an application that i don't have the source code for. I'm trying to interface in some data in an XML file. i believe my file matches the applications required schema correctly, but i get the message "Could not find schema information for the element" for every element in my file. I've decomplied the applications code and rebuilt it in visual studio, and i get the error myself.
I'm going to go ahead and just dump the code... Its pretty long, but i'm starting to think its a pretty bone head mistake on my part.
