[SOLVED] Apache error with "Listen 443" in conf
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 3, 2011
I have an error with apache:
-Centos 5, Apache 2, mod_ssl
I installed mod_ssl and openssl on the machine. Then Apache says "ok" after the restart but it is shutting down immediately.
I searched for the problem and probably found it: With "Listen 443" in the conf Apache is breaking down and without all is smooth - but with no SSL.
Here is the log (I've started Apache several times with "Listen 443" and without)
"GRUB Error 17" Any ideas? Need help with triple boot: Ubuntu/Kubuntu/2000 Pro
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 30, 2007
OK. So i got back from vacation this afternoon, and turned my two main computers on; my server, a Dell Precision Workstation 220, and my internet browsing computer, a Dell Dimension T500. My server boots up fine, and just used it to start this thread. My T500 however, loaded the bios, and started to load "Grub", the OS manager for Linux. When it gets about half way through, it gives me this exact message in a DOS style Black screen/White text.
GRUB Loading stage1.5.
GRUB loading, please wait...
Then the computer freezes up and will go a _(bleep!)_ step further. I tried going to the bios and setting the CD drive IDE channel to 1st boot instead of the hard drives and then put my 2000 Pro CD in, restarted the computer, and I get the same result (it will not ever begin trying to load the OS CD). By the way as far as OS's go, about a month ago I installed Windows 2000 Pro on the systems 6GB Maxtor Drive set to master jumper. Then a week ago before I left for v
Dual boot (Ubuntu 12.04 x64 & Win 7 Pro x64) grub menu error: "Invalid EFI file path"
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 3, 2013
Hi all, I'm new to Ubuntu/linux and I'm trying to fix a problem I'm having with the Grub menu.
I have Windows 7 Pro (x64) and Ubuntu 12.04 (x64) installed on separate 120GB SSDs.
I installed Ubuntu first and have its EFI entry listed as first in my boot settings, which loads
Grub properly, but when I choose my Win 7 entry I get the error message: "Invalid EFI file path",
and it returns to the menu. Ubuntu and all the other options work properly, and when I change
the Boot order to my Win 7 drive, Windows 7 boots properly by itself.
I ran boot-repair and by using the recommended settings and clicking 'no' for when it
asks whether my 120GB disk is removable (presumably it was referring to my Win 7 drive),
I was met with another error message:
GPT detected. Please create a BIOS-boot partition (> 1 Mb unformatted file system, bios_grub
flag). This can be performed via tools such as GParted. Then try again. Alternatively you can retry
after activating the [Separate/boot/efi
radeon x800 pro driver 93x86 error installing
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 6, 2012
I've recently started using ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32bit on my computer, the graphics card of which is an old Ati Radeon x800 pro. I tried to install its video driver provided my amd which I downloaded from this link: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...2&lang=English
That's exactly the error which appeared in console:
ATI Technologies Linux Driver Installer/Packager
Error: ./default_policy.sh does not support version
default:v2:i686:lib::none:3.2.0-24-generic-pae; make sure that the version is being
correctly set by --iscurrentdistro
After googling the error I figured out that the version of ubuntu I have does not support this version of the driver, despite the fact that it is provided by AMD for linux x86! I am not sure about the above conclusion of mine, so I would like to hear your opinion before I go searching for open source driv

"Error Loading Operating System": 9.10 Macbook Pro
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 14, 2009
I have just installed 9.10 on my Mac, but I can't boot it. I know it is on there and working because when trying to debug I booted from the Ubuntu CD and chose 'Boot from First Hard Disk' - and Ubuntu booted (via GRUB). When I boot while holding alt I get an option between Macintosh HD and 'Windows' - selecting Windows gives me "Error Loading Operating System"
I have 4 partitions.
2. Os X
4. Windows (not yet installed/blank partition)
I made sure that in the Ubuntu installer I put Grub on sda3, i.e. the root Ubuntu disk.
I _have_ used rEFIt to resycn and that just broke my ability to boot Ubuntu using the Ubunut CD as described above.
When I boot (holding alt) I _only_ see two options: Macintosh HD and 'Windows' - selecting Windows shows me 'Error Loading Operating System' - I am suspicious that this is actually trying to find something on the empty Windows partition.
I have tried sudo bless --device /dev/disk0s3 --setBoot --legacy

I get following errors:
window XP pro on top of XEN > Error
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 13, 2006
I am trying to install Windows XP pro over fully virtualized Fedora Core 6 with XEN.
After Window xp setup is complete it gives sthe message of rebooting in few seconds and after those few seconds it never restarts. And when i try to start it from Virtual Machine Manager, it gives me error i.e.
Error domain '/root/Desktop/XP_PRO/VM1'. is the domain already running ?
Well i also checked with the command # xm list, it shows only one domain i.e. dom0 as a running and there is no second domain running on it.
I have tried this 3-4 time but getting the same problem. Could any one help me out in this matter?
VirtualBox error setting up Windows 8 Pro 64Bit
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 4, 2013
I have been having some trouble setting up my virtual machine with windows 8 professional edition via VirtualBox. After allocating RAM and Hard Disk space I attempted running the Windows 8 setup from an iso disk image and after about 30 seconds of sitting at the bootup screen I get an error and it tells me that my pc needs to restart. Could this be an issue with windows 8 support? I am running Ubuntu 12.10 64-Bit by the way. I am quite new to virtualization so any help is much appreciated. Thank you very much.
User Error Partition SD Card Like a pro....
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 1, 2012
Hello, I think this is yet another epic fail on my path to understanding.
My Partition Magic: (1024 mb = 1 GB)
16384 mb = 16 GB (Original Size)
12124.16 mb = 11.84 GB (Size after Partition)
4259.84 MB Magically disappeared!!!*
*I made a horrible mistake.
I was 'loosely' reading a passage about partitioning SD Cards and a2sd implications one day.
The instructions were to format partition 1 to Fat @ xMB, partition 2 to ext3 (logical) @ yMB. DONE!
x= the larger
y= the smaller (where apps would be installed)
Now, when I boot into CM7 on my LG, SD CARD Information unavailable...space 'unavailable'. Mount is NOT an option. It's grayed out.
In fact, the only way that I can access this space is from Clockwork Mod and from Linux.
Linux still sees the 11.85 GB as storage space if I mount from recovery USB Mass Storage,
but these files can't be accessed from m
