xgrafix configure: error: X11 includes not found
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 16, 2013
I was trying to install xgrafix 2.70.2 but I have run into trouble. I will write down the steps I followed:
Downloaded xgrafix 2.70.2 from http://ptsg.egr.msu.edu/pub/codes/xgrafix/ (The Plasma Theory and Simulation Group).Extracted the tar archive and went through the README file.Installed the dependencies using the following command:
sudo aptitude install gcc g++ build-essential automake tk-dev imagemagick bison libx11-dev libxpm-dev libpng-dev fftw-dev libfftw3-dev h5utils hdf5-tools libhdf5-serial-*
aptitude was unable to install libhdf5-serial-* so I installed those with apt-get. Also, libpng12-dev was installed instead of libpng-dev.Did "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade" and rebooted.Did ./configure from the xgrafix folder.Error!
Output upon executing ./configure -q
Using C++ compiler g++
Using C compiler gcc
Setting the flags per system and C++ compiler: g++
Serial C++ compiler is `g++'

I'm trying to add libx264 support to my already existing ffmpeg installation. However, installer just can't see the installed libx264 on my server machine. Here's what I've done so far:
Installed libx264 from Videolan's git repo with --enable-shared . I have it installed under /usr/local/lib .

GRUB error 15 file not found

Hi, I just installed BackTrack 4 on my laptop, along with ubuntu 9.10. and XP Pro. the installtion of BT4 went fine, but when I went to boot into Ubuntu, it gave me error 15. file not found.
I can still boot into windows and BT4, but not 9.10.
I think this may be because the installer for BT4 is the same one used in ubuntu 8.10. How can I fix this?

Upgrade 9.10 to 10.4: error 15 file not found
- date: November 22, 2010
Fairly new to ubuntu. Dell Laptop D830. Dual boot XP and Ubuntu.
Upgrading from update manager to 10.04 LTS. Upgrade went fine, but, asked me which menu.lst to use. The default was Keep the current menu.lst. When hovering over it said modifications were made to my version. The other choice was the developer copy. I took the default.
When rebooting, my old menu.lst came up as it listed 9.10.
So I added a section about 10.04 LTS using /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-25-generic assuming that is the new 10.04 kernel.
When I boot to 10.04 LTS I get:
Error 15: File not found
Press any key to continue...
When I boot to 9.10 I get:
Mount: mounting none on /dev failed: No such device61f7538854
Starting up ...
I eventually boots up.

"Error 15: File not found" with 9.04 to .10 upgrade

I just "finished" upgrading ten minutes ago, and now, it shows error 15. I don't understand what the issue is. I am assuming that it is keeping GRUB1. I opted to remove the old linux kernels during cleanup, and I don't know if that is a problem. I have a couple of different partitions, if I remember correctly:

Error 15: file not found
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 27, 2009
I've recently reinstalled my Windows, and I'm supposed to be dual-booting it along with Ubuntu 9.04. I followed the standard instructions of, after installing Windows back, running the live-cd and running these commands:
At first this worked, and I booted Ubuntu with no problems. However, the next time I tried to boot Ubuntu I got the Error 15: file not found error. I looked all over the forums for a solution to my problem and ended up running the same commands I used before to setup GRUB again. I had no problems and all the commands worked. However the error 15 still persisted. So I ran the live-cd one more time. This time, when I ran
it said the file was not found again. Since I read that this is only to know where I should boot from, I tried running
to no avail. All the files exist and my menu.lst is properly configured. I don't know what else to
