Deluge 1.1.6 on Xubuntu 9.04
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 23, 2009
I installed Xubuntu 9.04 yesterday and installed Deluge mainly because I use it on another machine and it allows you to control it remotely through the web GUI. However it seems that the newer version (1.1.6) does not have the plugin installed as the old one did by default. Do you know what package I should install in order to allow web management? (I already tried deluge-web and deluge-webgui and none of those seem to exist).
Deluge does not start after rebooting (Xubuntu 13.04)
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 11, 2013
After installing and running Conky Manager, I had to force-reboot using the sudo reboot command while Deluge was still running because the panel had disappeared making the DE almost unusable; however, after rebooting I could no longer start the application. I ran Deluge via terminal, and the message I got was something about the program not being able to acquire a lock; I deleted the two files in the /home/.config/deluge/ipc directory (just as somebody else suggested), and the program worked until I rebooted. Now I can no longer launch the program either using the shortcut I have assigned to it or the panel launcher...neither have I been able to launch it using the applications menu; launching it from the terminal, gives the following message:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/deluge", line 9, in <module>
load_entry_point('deluge==1.3.6', 'gui_scripts', 'deluge')()
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/deluge/main.py", line 13

location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 9, 2013
I have been reading many posts on how to fix this issue in xubuntu 13.04, but only one worked for me and I had to do it in the order below. Now I can enjoy the latest xubuntu.
* How to fix xubuntu 13.04 from not waking up from sleep / suspend
* How to get NVIDIA drivers working and replace Nouveau Default Drivers in Xubuntu 13.04
* Do not remove the nouveau drivers (I left them alone)
1) Using Synaptic Package Manager install "gedit", if not already done, or at the terminal type:
sudo apt-get install gedit
2) At the terminal type:
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
3) Add "nouveau.blacklist=1" to "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= "quiet splash"
(Ex.) GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nouveau.blacklist=1 quiet splash"
4) Save the grub file
5) At the terminal type:
7) Using Synaptic Package Manager install "nvidia-current", which will pull down a number of other dependencies, or using the command

[SOLVED] [NO] Plans/ETA for Xubuntu 13.04 Alternate ISO?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 3, 2013
We are currently utilizing preseed and postinstall functionality for an automated USB stick installer of Xubuntu 12.04.2, and would like to upgrade to 13.04 (via fresh install; we'd like to avoid do-release-upgrade).
From what I've been told, the preseed/postinstall functionality only works for alternate installer ISOs. I've been checking weekly since 13.04 was released for an xubuntu-13.04-alternate-amd64.iso release, but I've yet to find one.
Are there plans to release it? If not, I suppose I could use a Ubuntu alternate ISO and manually remove gnome and install XFCE, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 23, 2013
Hi , i just install succesffuly the xubuntu 13.04. Everything is ok, I can play mp3 and movies, JUST no system event sounds.
As a guid that is five years ago in this forum, i make out the login sound ! Sounds perfect! But no eny event sounds
How can i do? Why the development team did not make the xubuntu auto play sound? That is very hard for them? I think that is very hard for me -- for the people who like me.
Maybe the xubuntu 13.04 is just a SEMIFINISHED product?

Xubuntu 13.04 cifsutils not working
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 26, 2013
I have just upgraded two computers to Xubuntu 13.04. Now the External USB drive connected to the Modem/Router cannot be mounted. This has been working OK for months until today when I upgraded
The relevant line in /etc/fstab is:
# Network USB Drive - ie the USB Flash Drive connected to the Modem
//192.168.0.1/USB /home/user/USB cifs uid=1000,gid=1000,guest,_netdev 0 0
I have tried reinstalling cifs-utils but that does not help.
In Dolphin I can access the drive by going Network > Samba Shares > USB Readyshare... &c.
