Hi all
I have attempted to install ndas drivers after compiling them from source from ximeta site. Managed to install first component after creating deb file , likewise ndas admin file was made in .deb file. The install of the admin appeared to hand and silly me quit the terminal process.
Back at terminal it suggested to run sudo dpkg --configure -a, which appears to resume the install of the above file. I left it for at least 30mins and no action. Did CTRL-Z to quite process and back to square one.
I have tried deleting the lock file in /var/lib/dpkg and this did nothing. also saw suggestion on the forums to kill all apt processes but that does nothing.
Any suggestion to get me back in the update arena would be great.
Thanks in advance
Richard

I found <a href="http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=388348">this</a> thread, but I still run into trouble. Here's what I get when I run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' (everything in-between the stars):

re: "dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem."
I have already tried to run sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade, to no avail.
I have already tried to run aptitude to install dpkg again. I still get "dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem."
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala
Via Synaptic, I was trying to install lmms (the Linux Multimedia Studio) and a few other miscellaneous files.
I have an AMD 64-bit processor, and I am running the 64-bit version of Karmic.
Have run the 'sudo dpkg --configure..." command in a terminal.
The results of that command are as follows (in quotes):
"sudo dpkg --configure -a

Hello!
On Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx
I had troubles updating, since I shutted down the computer while an update seemed 'stuck'. Like, the computer stayed on all night and was still updating something.
But now, what I understood is that I can't update any program. It gives me this message:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
I learned that Sudo gives permission to users. I searched with Google for answers and found a forum thread written in chinese and japanese language. I translated approximately with Google too and tried this simple string of code.
I tried using ''Aptitude' to find the problem. I discovered that there was ONE 'Obsolete and Locally created Package'. I cannot delete it because it is 'read-only'. I think I need more permissions as a user in order to repair the problem.
But how, since there's only one user?
I was searching for the answer and I'm pretty

At the same time (I dont know if its related) I noticed that the space was full on my computer (partitioned into 4), I cleaned it now but I cant delete any programs because I have to repaire something first (I dont understand what it is but it say so everytime I try). But, I cant repaire this thing because I get this:
