Merge lines in a file using sed
location: linuxquestions.com - date: June 8, 2004
I am just new to sed and I am scratching my head to write a script that would take the multiple lines of a file and would merge them together in a single line. I thought sed would be good to do that! For example, here are the few first line of my file:
and I want to get the following output:
98e_30788 98e_30802 98e_30825 ...
I found a script on the web that was merging two specific lines of a file but I just can't make it through the different commands of the script. I have searched for the threads in this forum about sed, but none of them were useful for my problem. If someone has any clue, please help me!

location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 25, 2010
I hope you can help me. I've been trying to sort this out for several hours and Iím totally lostÖ Iíve been searching around, but havenít found the solution to my problem.
I have a directory with 100 files. I need to copy 10 lines of each files (letís say from line 45 to 55) into one unique file. So I guess I could use sed Ėw, but I didnít manage to write the right script.
I also tried using a loop to create 100 different files, each one with the 10 lines) to concatenate them later on. But I only got 1 file, not 100.
Anyone can help me? is sed -w the correct comand?

opening linux file system files in windows 95??
location: linuxquestions.com - date: August 25, 2005
I would like to find some way to open linux file system (Debian Woody) files in windows 95. I do not think this is possible, but don't want to throw in the towel before asking on here. I have been searching for programs that might be able to do this for a few hours, and have come up with very little.
Windows and linux are on different disk partitions. I can view windows files from linux.
I did find something called RawWrite(?) that I am curious about, as well as some programs to read reiser fs from win95. I'm pretty sure I don't have reiser fs, though, but I am a newbie and I don't really know.
