How to reinstall fedora 20 in dual boot with Windows 8.1?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 9, 2014
I have fedora 20 installed on my system along with windows 8.1. As i am new to linux i assigned much less space to fedora(12gb) on hard disk when i installed it. Now i have run out of space in fedora, and i have been suggested to reinstall it, But i don't know how to uninstall fedora 20 in dual boot with windows 8.1. I browsed net but could not find the process for windows 8.1 as most of these were with windows 7. I have no CD of windows 8.1 but i have live image on my external hard disk. Please help me!
Also I don't know how to use gparted (as somebody suggested me).

To complement the many Ubuntu 13.10 Linux benchmarks I have published on Phoronix since the "Saucy Salamander" premiere in October, I've started several Fedora 20 benchmarks since December. So far I've shared Fedora 19 vs. Fedora 20 benchmarks and Wayland OpenGL benchmarks, besides using Fedora 20 as the base platform for unrelated tests, while today are some Ubuntu 13.10 vs. Fedora 20 performance benchmarks.
How to install VMWare 10.0.1 on Fedora 20 x8664
location: linux.com - date: April 20, 2014
I got new ultrabook (Samsung ATIV Book 5 NP530U4E) preinstaled with Windows 8 (updated to 8.1) so I wanted to switch main OS to Fedora 20 (Heisenbug) and keep Windows in VM, just in case (e-banking sw and so).
This walktrough is for everyone who would like to install VMware® Workstation 10.0.1 build-1379776 to x86_64 version of Fedora's latest Linux distro.
Install GCC, dev tools and kernel headers
# yum -y install gcc kernel-headers kernel-devel
# ln -s /usr/src/kernels/$(uname -r)/include/generated/uapi/linux/version.h /usr/src/kernels/$(uname -r)/include/linux/version.h[/code]
Start the VMWare installation
# chmod -x VMware-Workstation-Full-10.0.1-1379776.x86_64.bundle
Apply patch for a bug with netfilter
$ curl http://pastie.org/pastes/8672356/download -o /tmp/vmware-netfilter.patch

Lenovo T430S Fedora 20/21 Left Mouse button on laptop gives context menu
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 14, 2014
About 6 months ago, my laptop began having this issue, and I've been unable to find a solution. It is driving me freaking nuts. It only affects the primary left-click button on the laptop itself. Plug in an external mouse and the issue goes away.
I had Lenovo replace the trackpad about 3 months ago, and the issue didn't resolve itself. I've upgraded or updated everything I can think to update. The problem remains with me through the update to Fedora 21, as well.
I came across all of the various settings for changing the trackpad behavior, but the wiki page for it doesn't really seem to cover all of the options or even explain their purposes (IOW: I would not be competent adjusting the settings without some assistance).
I'm pretty much at my wit's end. I can't find an OS setting that would do this, so I don't think it's something I've accidentally 'set'.
Youtube not playing in Fedora 20 fresh install
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 11, 2014
Good day, I am unable to get youtube running in Fedora 20, the Compiz spin. I downloaded flash player but, even the it seems to begin to play videos, it stalls at a black video window. Has anyone else gotten past this problem to tell me a fix?
Screen saver on Fedora 20
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 13, 2014
I am running Fedora 20 with 64bit software. (AMD 64 quad processor) I am having difficulty with the screen saver:
I can not get the options for a choice of screen saver. I click on Hardware- Display and Monitor -Screen Locker and I get the set-up window in the System Settings and the Screen saver gives only two options; Blank Screen and Random.
There is a test window with just a blue screen ikon. I select Random and click on the Test button the screen goes blank and I have to click on the blank screen to get back the desktop window. I have tried selecting Blank Screen and testing again: The same thing happens.
Anybody, have an idea how to get the screen savers back and have this work properly?
Duel boot Windows 7 and Fedora 20, bootloader issues
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 9, 2014
So I am trying to duel boot Windows 7 and Fedora 20. I have Windows installed in BIOS mode.
On my free space I have installed fedora, without a bootloader. From what I've read on other threads I should use EasyBCD or refind to alter the bootloader and give me a boot option for fedora.
When I try to use EasyBCD, I set the bootloader to grub2 and let it automatically find fedora. This gives me a 'Fedora20' option on the boot screen (although this is just the tag I type in for the entry) and it loads dosgrub - no linux here.
When I try to use refind it says

Installing rEFInd on Linux....
The ESP doesn't seem to be mounted! Trying to find it....

mounted at //boot or //boot/efi and it must be VFAT! Aborting!
[SOLVED] Fedora 20 No package cpuspeed available.
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 22, 2014
my 3 1/2 year old laptop (Sony Z-series) overheats quickly and as a result shuts down.
Before installing Fedora 20 I have been using CentOS for a couple of years.
There I have been using the cpuspeed program to limit CPU frequency.
This worked fine.
I've been looking for a similar program/service for Fedora 20 all day but cannot find anything.
It's the F20 MATE spin, so compiz, no gnome.
Right now I am thinking about writing a script overriding the values in /sys/devices/cpu ...
Even the installation failed due to CPU overheat and I only got it on by opening a terninal as superuser and running 'nice -10 /usr/sbin/liveinst'.
Booting the laptop now is kind of playing lottery, it sometimes comes up, but mostly gets too hot.
So some system service might do the trick.
Any pointers or hints much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
