I recently installed Precise on a Lenovo Ideapad using hte 32 bit version because I didnt realize I had a 64 bit processor. Everything has been running smoothly but I just realized I should have installed the 64 bit version. Would it be faster with 64 bit? Is there a way to change it?
32 vs. 64 Bit

So, I have a computer with an i3 processor, which I'm pretty sure is capable of running a 64 bit operating system. Currently I have 32 bit Ubuntu installed on it. What are the practical benefits of a 64 bit operating system...is it worth wiping my system to install Ubuntu 64 bit? I am not a gamer or anything...basically this computer is used for very light tasks, like surfing the web, word processing, etc. Occasionally I might want to run a memory-intensive program, like Eclipse, or possibly spin up an Android emulator. What do y'all think?

I notice that in the ubuntu downloads, when given a choice between 32 & 64 bit, only the 32 is "recommended". Is this still the better bet even on a 64-bit computer?

Does Ubuntu have this problem? Will I have this problem if I use the 32 bit Ubuntu with 64 bit cpu?

I am new to Ubuntu. I plan on dual booting with Windows 7 64 bit.
Should I install the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Ubuntu? 32 shows as "recommended", but I have 64 bit hardware ability. Suggestions? Remember, I am a home user just messing around with Ubuntu for a dual-boot option, right now. I could see myself eventually leaving Windows entirely, but I am not there yet.
32 or 64 bit Ubuntu for Acer Revo R3700
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 21, 2012
I need to install Ubuntu on an Acer Revo R3700. Will the 64 bit version work on it or should I use the 32 bit?
I think I'll need version 10.04 or 10.10, so won't be able to use the latest version.
Also, can anyone point me to all the required drivers for the R3700 and how to install them?
