Redhat 5.1 Yum Repository vs Fedora x.x Yum Repository
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 22, 2008
Having nothing but success installing many tools and programs available with fedora, our company recently purchased a Redhat License and now we are to use only that.
My problem is the 'Everything' Category in Fedora has all the tools I need to work with and dependencies are automatically resolved for me. However, RedHat 5.1 only has the 'core' and 'updates' limiting the tools I need to work with.
What exactly are my options?
The way I currently see it, I'm going to need to install a seperate machine with fedora and follow all the dependencies... I'll need to get all the srpms and compile them on RH51. I'm hoping this is extreme overkill and one of you smart buggers are going to give me a simple answer .
How To:fixing Grub Reinstall After Mbr Recovery In A Fedora/windows Multiple Boot
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 31, 2008
THE NIGHTMARE for everyone is the death of grub in a Fedora/windows multiple boot if grub was installed in mbr AND YOU HAVE TO RECOVER MBR FOR WINDOWS BOOTING PROBLEMS..in this case, neither following Aus9 grub how-tos
and googling,i could never re-install efficiently grub and i had to reinstall fedora from a partimage image file or reinstall it from scratch...
anyway, here in Fedora 9 i've found a working trick by myself:and it works perfectly;the secret is NOT INSTALLING GRUB IN MBR BUT INSTALLING IT ON ROOT PARTITION
Ive done it using different HARD DISKS FOR WINDOWS XP PRO WITH SP2 AND FEDORA 9 AMD 64 but it should work even using a single hard disk but i could not test it on a single one because i have 4 sata hard disk on the motherboard...anyway,KEEP IN MIND THAT IT SURELY WORKS FOR ME BUT I DON'T GUARANTEE IT WORKS FOR YOU TOO AND ANYWAY YOU DO EVERYTHI

location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 27, 2012
To install Google Chrome via yum you need to jump through few hoops, but once you find the url it is quite easy to do so.
For 32bit version :
yum localinstall --nogpgcheck -y https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/g...rrent_i386.rpm
For 64bit version :
yum localinstall --nogpgcheck -y https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/g...ent_x86_64.rpm

I have got errors from berkely db when cyrus imap service started to run.
imap: incorrect version of Berkeley db: compiled against 4.2.52, linked against 4.0.14
for this I tried to remove rpm based bdb version 4.0.14.
by rpm -e db-devel --> this lead rpm package manager to hangup.
So I thought of removing rpm package manager and reinstall it again via yum.
Ok I removed rpm by --> yum remove rpm

Hello fellow citizens of planet earth
I love yum, its really awesome when its working.
But.. (after its been working a loooong time ) it gives me this message
