How to encrypt entire file system? (Fedora 11 64bit)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 11, 2009
Hi all, I recently installed Fedora 11 64bit and I am curious about encrypting my entire file system for security purposes.
I've been on Google for a while now and I keep finding info on how to encrypt a specific folder or home directories but nothing on the entire file system (or I'm missing something big here).
Is this possible? It's hard for me to imagine that it isn't. If so, do I need to encrypt the partition my file system is on before installing it? What software should I use? There seems to be so many, it's difficult to keep them all straight. Any help or a point in the right direction is awesome. Thanks!
How to open port in Fedora?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 4, 2013
I am using Fedora 19 with GNOME 3.8. My Firewall program is Firewall-config. I want to download a few files through Transmission (my default bittorrent client) but currently I can't do that because my ports are closed. My question is how do I open ports in Fedora?
Also I am using a wireless card if that matters at all.

I have tried to install rar and unrar (in root login) using the below mentioned commands and have received the following error on fedora 11.
1. yum install rar - Error message: No package rar available.
2. yum install unrar - Error message: No package unrar available.
However I was able to download and install other packages using yum.

How to burn the downloaded Fedora 3 DVD ISO onto DVD
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 13, 2005
Hi all. I am a TOTAL LINUX NEWBIE but am keen to learn, but I can't even work out how to burn the downloaded Fedora 3 ISO onto DVD. I have extracted all the files from the WinRAR FC3-1386-DVD.iso into a folder called FC3-i386-DVD and that is where it all stops.......
I do not have Nero, just Nero Express 18.104.22.168. Can I use this? Do I have to use a dual layer DVD disk? I know that I have to burn it as an image file, but can't work out how. I have tried finding info on how to do it but have had no luck.
Does anybody know of a guide for dummies on how to do this? Any step-by-step instructions would be much appreciated,
[SOLVED] How to load modules on boot in Fedora 18?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 22, 2013
I'd like to load a certain module during boot process and iirc that'd be done by /etc/modprobe.conf. Now, that doesn't exist anymore so I guess it has been replaced by some other mechanism. Anybody can help me out?
Thx in advance!
