I also posted this in the Fedora forum.
I've got no sound at all on my Macbook pro after installing Fedora 13. It seems that on Ubuntu 10.04 you have no problems with this generation of MBP, could anyone suggest how I could solve this issue?

Triple boot Fedora on MacBook Pro
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 6, 2010
I have a MacBook Pro 5,1 that I want setup so I can triple boot between MacOS X 10.6, Windows 7, and Fedora 12.
I installed Windows 7 on the system and was able to boot between Mac OS X and Windows. I then tried installing 64-bit version of Fedora 12. After adding a few options to the boot sequence, I was able to boot to the setup program and run the installation.
However after completing the installation the computer recognizes the Mac OS X partition as the only partition it can boot from.
What is needed so I can get Fedora running properl on this system?
[SOLVED] Installing Fedora 14 on Macbook Pro 7,1

Below are two posts from a fedora forum. You can see the original forum here. Otherwise you can just look at the two posts of mine I've chosen to put here.
"I have recently submitted a bug about the text of the anaconda installation not showing up, this can be found here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=648993
It was recommended to me to continue installation with the basic video driver, which has the anaconda installer show up properly. I did this, but fedora refuses to boot.
Here's how things are:
I use rEFIt so that I can choose to boot up between Mac and Linux (in case the linux distro I use does not recognize the Mac OS). When I used Ubuntu, there were only two options in rEFIt, one for mac, and one for linux. After I installed Fedora 14 with basic video driver there were now 3 options, one for mac, and TWO for linux. After updating the partition manager of rEFIt (a necessary step for it to recognize new partitions), each of the two linux o

Was anyone able to run Fedora 13 on Macbook Pro 13" (7,1)?

Boot has failed, sleeping forever
Any ideas how to fix this?

Installing Fedora 16 on a MacBook Pro
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 26, 2011
I have a MacBookPro5,1 Intel Core 2 Duo system. At one point in time, using the rEFIt boot loader, I was able to triple boot the system between Mac OS X 10.6, Windows 7 (64-bit), and Fedora 12 (64-bit).
A while back I decided I wanted to upgrade to Fedora 15. I can't remember everything that happened. If I recall correcly the last thing I did was to try a clean installation from a DVD. This left me with a system that would not boot into Fedora
I was now interested to see if I'd have any better luck with Fedora 16. I made a created live installation on an USB thumb drive. I tested the drive on another system, so I know it can boot. I tried using it on my laptop, and I got to an installation screen that started displaying a bunch of garbage.
Research indicates this appears to be an issued with the kernel and the nVidia graphics adapter on the laptop. It looks like this issue has existed for a while, (found back on Fedora 14). I'm wondering if there is any point in tryin
Display MacBook Pro on Samsung television with Fedora
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 20, 2010
I have a MacBookPro5,1 laptop, and I have installed the 64-bit version of Fedora 12 on it, in addition to the Mac OS X operating system.
When I'm running Mac OS X, I can connect my 720p Samsung television to the computer through its mini DVI port and the computer will go into a mode that will display on the television.
However, when I'm running Fedora and connect the television nothing happens.
What can be done to allow the laptop to display on the television when it is using Fedora?
MacBook Pro Fedora 10 svn mplayer no video window
location: linuxquestions.com - date: February 3, 2009
Hi all! I just successfully installed Fedora 10, then svn, gcc, make, and finally mplayer. I compiled mplayer from source which I pulled from what's currently up on svn. Mplayer configure, make, and make install seemed to work fine. But when I try to play a video, mplayer prints some errors, then seems to play the file as far as the console is concerned. But there is no sound, and no video. It doesn't even open a new window to play the video in. Here are the console messages:
