I'm transferring a very large (35GB) file through SFTP and FileZilla. Now the transfer is 59.7% done, but I keep getting this error, and it hasn't changed that number for hours. Hi, my problem is when I try to burn a data DVD using K3B I get an error message saying "Could not determine size of the resulting image file" & in case of Brasero it says "unknown error". I am not trying to create a multisession disc. The data I am trying to write are some .avi * mpg files (in data cd/dvd mode). At first I thought my writer was at fault but when I tried to burn the data using the image recorder (k3b & brasero) the result was the same. I read somewhere that file permissions must be set correctly on the source files so that K3B can determine their sizes. Read write permissions was already applied. So then, what is causing this ? Please help.

"No space left on device" error message : NOT TRUE (while writing to a SD card)

Hi, I'm news to Ubuntu and until now I manage to fix all my smalls problems searching this forum and google. But, now I'm stuck. I want to copy some picture and a few video to a 2GB SD card (brand: Kentron, pre-formated FAT32) for a digital picture frame. after copying 168mb, I receive an error "No space left on device". But, the SD still have over 90% free space. I cannot copy more file from my HD to the SD, duplicate files already present on the SD nor creating empty folder/file in the SD. My files names don't have any special char. eg: "2010-04-11 20.45.02.jpg" Following some advices from thread about similar problem, I run "df -h". [SOLVED] Boot Failure Error while booting

Hello, I am using a dual boot system - debian and windows. Today when I tried to boot into debian,getting the following error: "Loading linux 2.6.32-5-686... error: Couldn't read file... loading initial ramdisk... error: you need to load the kernel first.. Press any key to continue" When I press any key, it is taking back to the boot options page again. Please let me know what I need to do to get my debian up again. -- Anji

Why do I get “Generic Failure” error while sending SMS?

I am working on android project where I need to send SMS. My app collects required information by consuming a web service and this information is very short and pure text. This information is then sent in the form of SMS. I have used broadcast receiver that will keep track of whether SMS is sent successfully or not and simply add a log entry. I have used SmsManager to send SMS. My device is having very good WiFi strength and good GPRS network. While sending SMS, I have found that broadcast receiver inserts log entries, some for "Successful" and some for "Generic Failure". Why few SMS fail because of "Generic Failure"? What is the reason behind this? I have googled and found that some people are saying to turn OFF WiFi. But for consuming web service I need WiFi ON. Can anyone give some insight on this? Is there any solution for this problem?

Hi, When I try to copy PDF files from one folder to another folder, it give me this error: "Error while copying "2004-SNUG-Europe-paper_...log_DPI_with_SystemC.pdf". Every once and awhile I get this error while trying to copy things over to an external HDD. It's only certain (very few) files, but they won't copy to either of my externals. They always get hung up at the same point too. The files are varying in size too, and it's always video files. I don't think it's an issue of the drives being corrupt, because they work fine otherwise. Any tips on this? It's driving me mad and it's really important that I have these files backed up.
