Blackberry mobile computing
location: linux.com - date: January 19, 2011
I downloaded and application to my blackberry for mobile computing, but I am having a difficult time connecting to my desktop as the tech support personnel at RealVNC says I need to configure my network to accept incoming connection for authentication. The program work successfully the first two attempts, then failed afterwards. My host address is 69.136.230.132 and I provided my sign in password and there is a field stating direct TCP as the connection process. I have not intentionally changed any settings, but somehow they do not match the necessary parameters required by realvnc as they state to me to make sure the host address is correct as well as the host address is accessible through the network. I am awaiting them to give me their gateway address, as the one that was in my VPN connection field was for another program ( gate0.rdmplus.com, which is not theirs. I have desktop sharing enable for all incoming connections, but something is still not entered right. My teamviewer set u

Mobile Broadband Networking Connection tether BlackBerry Bold
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 3, 2009
Ok, so I want to tether my BlackBerry bold with my Ubuntu 8.10 laptop. I started looking into this before runing Ubuntu 7.10 using barry and XMBlackBerry. I recently formatted and updated my laptop to 8.10 and have noticed alot of really nice new features. Now, my blackberry is detected upon plugging it into the usb. I ran the command lsusb and saw my device was connected:
Code:
Bus 005 Device 006: ID 0fca:8004 Research In Motion, Ltd.
Here is where the problem comes in. I would like to tether my blackberry and use it as a modem to connect. I've read a few posts on the BlackBerry community support forums where people are saying its possible to do under linux with the Bold.

Now I don't want to start installing XMBlackBerry and Barry and compiling the various libraries and applications to make it work as shown in the post below if Ubuntu 8.10 has native support for this. I've created a new Mobile Broadband Connectio

Android vs. Ubuntu Mobile
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 6, 2011
As a die-hard fan of Ubuntu, I have waited patiently for a handphone that could run LibreOffice. I was keeping tab on Android phones but surfing the internet, I read recent development of Ubuntu Mobile. Will a respectable Ubuntu Mobile phone be a reality soon? This I will definitely wait for but what phone manufacturer would use it?
Angstrom/Familiar advantages over Windows Mobile
location: linuxquestions.com - date: September 10, 2008
What are the advantages of running Angstrom on Pocket PC over Windows Mobile(some sort of program which has no alternative on Windows Mobile etc)? I mean is there anything particular what Angstrom is capable of and Windows Mobile is not?
Blackberry hardware with FirefoxOS/UbuntuOS
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 25, 2012
The only smartphone hardware that I like is the Blackberry with physical keypad. But I do not like the Blackberry-software. What I would really like to do is install the Ubuntu-OS or the Firefox-OS onto the Blackberry.
I assume this is not possible because Blackberry is so proprietary. On chance that I'm wrong, does anyone know if this will be possible in the future?

Hi,
I am trying to install firefox mobile os b2g on ubuntu . I have downloaded and installed gaia. But when I am trying to run firefoxmobile b2g I am getting errors. Can anyone please help me in finding where I am going wrong. Below are the steps I am following:
1. Downloaded b2g-26.0a1.multi.linux-i686.tar.bz2 from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o...zilla-central/
2. Extracted it in Downloads folder only.
3. From terminal I have downloaded and installed gaia using the command
git clone http://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia
then make -C gaia profile
4. When the profile is ready I tried to run firefox mobile b2g
[email protected]:~/Downloads/b2g$ cd b2g
bash: cd: b2g: Not a directory
I tried this one also
[email protected]:~/Downloads/b2g$ -profile /home/testlab2/Downloads/b2g/gaia
-profile: command not found
By the by here
please wait...
