Download online videos (flash player, jw player) that do not show in plugins
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 23, 2013
Hi there!
I am trying to download videos from these 2 sites:
http://www.megatv.com/megagegonota/s...pubid=30403231
http://www.skai.gr/player/TV/?MMID=236383
I am using Firefox and various plugins (like Download Helper, FlashGot) but with no success.
In the first case, the video does not show up at all at the download plugins. I check the site source and see lines like the following:

Samba configuration issues share do not work
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 21, 2011
I am running eBox (aka Zentyal) and am having issues with Samba shares.
1) If I create a user (sl24user) and give the user administrative rights and then log in as that user from an XP machine I can browse and see shares but if I try to open the users home directory (automatically shared) then I get a message telling me I don't have permission to use this network resource.
2) I set up a share in the Zentyal directory and gave the user sl24user full adminstrative rights I can browse and open files read only but I cannot make changes. If I create a brand new text document in that shared folder I can open it and make change the first time but after that If I try to open the document again I get a Access is denied message.
Here is my Samba configuration:
[global]
workgroup = Eng
netbios name = sl24
server string = SL24 file server
enable privileges = yes
interfaces = lo,eth0
bind interfaces only = Yes
passdb backend = ldapsam:ldapi://%2fvar%2f

location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 7, 2013
Hi,
I have upgraded Ubuntu from 13.04 to 13.10 on my dell laptop. The upgrade is successful. But the issue is from the menu, nothing happens when I click on logout, shutdown, restart. Is this a known bug for 13.10 or its only me facing the issue? Please help me to resolve this issue.

16X DVDR Media do not work in Ubuntu Hardy
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 28, 2008
Ubuntu burns DVDs fine on 8X DVD-R media but all applications (Brasero, GnomeBaker, K3B, Nautilus) fail to burn on 16X DVD-R media.
I tried two different brands (one of them was generic 16X media - not tried in Win, the other was Philips 1-16X - these work fine on the same computer in Windows).
The only software with a meaningful error is K3B which says "OPC Failed". The rest just say "I/O Error"
The computer is a Thinkpad R51 with a 2.4X DVD Burner. The same problem was occuring in 7.10 before I upgraded to 8.04 over the weekend and tried again hoping it would work. I'm out of 8X media now and I can't seem to find any in stores either. So any help in getting this to work is appreciated.
Thanks
chmod and chown do not work on Adobe installer
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 2, 2014
I am running Linux on a Droid Bionic with a Lapdock. It's an older version of Ubuntu and it's all that will fit in the space provided, so I can't upgrade. I am trying to install Adobe reader with the bin file and I do not have permission to run it. I tried "sudo chmod +x file" and "... chmod 777...". Both looked like they worked, but the file permissions didn't actually change when I went back and looked. I tried chown thinking that I might need to own the file. I'm told that I don't have permission to do that (yes, I used sudo). I even tried doing it on the Android side with a root explorer. I get a message saying that the permissions have been successfully changed, but they don't actually change. Can I move this file to my desktop machine (when I get home tomorrow night), change the permissions there, then move it back? Is that not permitted due to the security of Linux (will it revert to a non-executable)? Does it have something to do with the fact that it is res
Play and pause buttons in youtube do not work.

Ushare... 360 symbolic links do not work?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 3, 2009
Hey guys I've install ushare and came across the common problem that you cannot list more then one directory in the config. Only the media of the first folder shows up on your xbox 360. I've read multiple posts where people have said to create a folder in your home directory and make symbolic links to the directories that contain your media. I've done this and it doesn't work. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had success with this, or if the posts I've read were just someone's educated guess as to a solution.
If you have got it to work, feel free to give any/all detailed instructions as to what you have done. I simply created the symbolic links with the ln command, was able to browse the files on the computer. but 360 just shows empty folder.
Thanks a bunch,

Antec Fusion Veris remote play and pause button do not work
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 22, 2012
Problem:
Play/Pause buttons on the Veris RM200 remote for the Antec Fusion case are not working in Mythbuntu 11.10. However, all the other buttons are working. I've spent a little time trying to determine the problem, but have been unsuccesful so far. I am willing to dive deeper but I am uncertain what the next best course of action is. I've attempted to run irw from the command-line, but I suspect with some of the modernization of the dev locations, it might not be watching the correct things (I was able to do this back in the 9.04 days).
Any hints/clues to next steps would be appreciated. The more specific details are down below.
Distro and release:
Mythbuntu 11.10
Full version of the lirc package (eg. dpkg -l lirc*):
0.9.0-0ubuntu1
Where you get your mythtv packages from (standard repos, avenard repos, mythbuntu repos, compile from source, etc):
Mythbuntu
Case:
Antec Fusion Veris Vendor product 15c2:0038
Remote:
Remote Veris RM200
Kernel Version (uname -a):
Linux tv 3.0.
