location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 7, 2010
I have UFRaw installed, the Raw image is opened in UFRaw but when i click open to gimp i get an unknown error, Would this maybe mean that i have the UFRaw program but i don't have the plugin installed? i looked everywhere and i have no idea how to install it as a plugin?
Gimp Boot error 21
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 21, 2008
I have seen topics about error 21, but i think it would be very helpful for some advice to me. The problem is when i got my new external hardrive i decided i would install ubuntu on it(not knowing much) So it went along and installed grub also. But i guess this changes something in the system. So without the ubuntu disk i cannot boot into anything. they only way i can go into windows is go to ubuntus disk and go to boot from first drive then grub seems to work. So i either want to get my old bootup working(so it boots right into windows right away) or get gimp working to give me an option between windows and ubuntu. I think the problem is (from reading other posts) that its not seeing my external drive right away from bootup. So how could i either get gimp working or windows back to normal bootup. Thanks.

I try batch-processing some files with GIMP.
Here is the script:
(define (script-fu-batch-sofu globexp)
(define (sofu-trans-img n f)
(let* ((fname (car f))
(img (car (gimp-file-load 1 fname fname))))
(gimp-fuzzy-select (car (gimp-image-get-active-drawable img)) 0 0 10 2 FALSE FALSE 0 FALSE)
(gimp-selection-grow img 1)
(gimp-edit-clear (car (gimp-image-get-active-drawable img)))
(file-png-save-defaults non-interactive img (car (gimp-image-get-active-drawable img)) fname fname)
(if (= n 1) 1 (sofu-trans-img (- n 1) (cdr f)))
(set! files (file-glob globexp 0))
(sofu-trans-img (car files) (car (cdr files)))

Gimp/GTK error in scriptfu
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 14, 2006
I'm trying to upgrade a script-fu script (written by someone else) that worked in Gimp 1.2 to Gimp 2.0 after upgrading the operating system from Redhat Enterprise LInux AS 2.1 to RHEL AS 4. The script is supposed to make a bar graph from an input file. When I ran it from the Script-Fu menu, it didn't give any errors, but it didn't produce anything, either. I entered the main function call in the Script-Fu console, and the following error message appeared on the command line:
(script-fu:10545): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtktextbuffer.c: line 557 (gtk_text_buffer_emit_insert): assertion `g_utf8_validate (text, len, NULL)' failed
Again the graph wasn't produced, and there weren't any errors in the console. Has anybody encountered this problem before? Is there something wrong with my GTK installation? This Gimp version is the default that came with the operating system.
GIMP ScriptFU Error: not enough arguments
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
GIMP script-fu-newbie here.
I can't see anywhere in the documentation of GIMP 2.6 why this shouldn't work:
;Define the main function
(define (script-fu-rubber-stamp img drawable)
(plug-in-randomize-pick 1 img drawable 90 7 FALSE 10)
(plug-in-oilify 1 img drawable 5 0)
;Register the script w/ GIMP.
"script-fu-rubber-stamp" ;func name
"Rubber Stamp" ;menu label
"Image to rubberstamp" ;description
"Copyright 2011, Me" ;copyright notice
"Nov. 2011" ;date created
"" ;image type that the script works on
(script-fu-menu-register "script-fu-rubber-stamp" "<Image>/Script-Fu")
It shows up in GIMP, but when I run it, it says:
Error: not enough arguments

I think I've broken my slackware install!!
Background info - may be relevant
I'm using 12.1 - I installed it yesterday and it seemed fine, but I had it set up to run apache & mysql at start. The I downloaded xampp and couldn't get it working because it conflicted with the other installation of apache. So I reinstalled the OS, but, I chose not to format my disk at the beginning, so the upshot was I still had my user account and personal files after installation. I did download xampp and get it to work though.
The problem is I can't get GIMP to install. I downloaded 2.6.6 tar.gz, but when I run ./configure it stops. The first time was because I didn't have babl, so I downloaded babl-0.0.22 and did the following:
Gimp throws error when trying to start
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 17, 2011
I apologize if this has already been asked, but I could not find an answer that would help me anywhere. I just installed Ubuntu today, and have limited experience with Linux, so some of the help files I found have gone over my head. I installed gimp from the Ubuntu Software Center and this is what happened:
gimp: error while loading shared libraries: libart_lgpl_2.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
How can I correct this? I have already removed and reinstalled it once, and that did not help.

I installed gimp, but it wouldnt start. So I ran it from the command line and got the following errors:
gimp: error while loading shared libraries: libgegl-0.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I then ran dpkg to isolate the error:
:~$dpkg -l gimp

||/ Name Version Description
ii gimp 2.6.12-1ubuntu The GNU Image Manipulation Program
What is the error? How can I fix it?
