Hardware Enablement stack 12.04.5 Problem
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 25, 2014
Using Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit
Like everyone else, I received the EOL message.
Ran: apt-get install linux-generic-lts-trusty linux-image-generic-lts-trusty
Everything seemed to go well and did a reboot
Now the machine does not start anymore and need to go and see what is wrong with it after this update, in DC.
Anything I missed?
Any other commands I should have run?

LTS Enablement Stack 12.04.2
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 15, 2013
Hello. I have 12.04.1 x86-64 installed and now I want to upgrade to 12.04.2 with LTS Enablement Stack. How to upgrade all my installed packages to their *-quantal version if there is any? I do not want to search them and upgrade one by one or install full xserver-xorg-lts-quantal metapackage with all drivers. Is that possible?

Installing LTS Hardware Enablement Stack in Lubuntu 14.04.2
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 27, 2015
I did a dist-upgrade from Lubuntu 14.04.1 to 14.04.2 yet the Kernel remained 3.13 although updated to 3.13.0-46.
Is it best to leave well enough alone? If not, what are the Terminal commands for installing the Stack in Lubuntu?
It's running just fine right now. I don't want to break anything, which I understand could happen with the Stack installation, especially with older hardware which is what I have.
Or is it best to attempt the installation? Does the 3.16 Kernel only apply to newer Computers? I have an old P4.
Please advise if possible. Thank you!
pc gets ''stuck'' kernel 12.04.02 problem?

actually this thread is kinda the continue of this one http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2155252&page=2, but since the nature of the issue seems to have changed, I thought of redirecting it here.
Ok, so here' s the situation:
As long asmy new built machine works, it's really fast and as far as I can tell, everything seems to work preety good. I got decent temperatures (the same as I stated at the previous post, about 40C at the cpu and typing to terminal acpi -t I get
Thermal 0: ok, 29.8 degrees C
Thermal 1: ok, 27.8 degrees C
which seem preety ok (even if i m not sure to what part they 're refering to..)
Having adjusted at the top bar the system load monitor, it seems really unloaded during the soft applications I 've been running so far. web browsing, chating and music listening basically. The cpu is almost always at 0 to 4% , ram 300 to 700 mb used from 8 gb and of the 8 gb swap usually 0%
I did the ''check the cd for defects'' before installing ubuntu and after also
ubuntu 12.04 sound problem
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 13, 2012
I am using an intel DG31PR motherboard that has realtek audio. Ever since I have installed Ubuntu 12, the audio is not working right. I hear the sound (from the speaker) but its mostly absent. Basically there is a lot of stuttering/choppiness. If I use a headphone, it works fine.
I have my alsa diagnostic tool output up at: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=ba...8a9446c277a2a3
I have tried all I could but nothings working for me. I must mention that before this I was using xubuntu 11 which worked just fine (I never updated it because I found that one of the updates to xubuntu 11 caused the same problem that I am facing now).
Any help would be appreciated. I would be forced to look back at other options if this does not get solved soon.

Ubuntu 12.04 update problem
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 20, 2012
I have installed fresh copy of Ubuntu 12.04 x64bit and have some problems with the lightdm after some struggling I finally installed nvidia-current and nvidia-setting by adding
to repositories. then everything seemed good and then I have started to get and install required softwares and packages from Ubuntu software Center. I need almost scientific computation related packages like eclipse, scilab, wxmaxima and... . all of them installed very good but Scilab doesn't start it returned an error like "scilab can not find its main classpath" and some errors related to java library missing. then I removed it. also I cannot run nvclock software which was a package for Nvidia graphic card controlling and everclocking. I have installed CUDA toolkit and run it very good and still it works fine. the main problem: after these installations when I run sudo nautilus in command prompt I
Ubuntu Server 12.04 SSH problem
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 2, 2012
I have just installed Ubuntu 12.04 server for a second time and struck the same problem twice. I cannot Putty the server unless I stop ssh and put it into debug mode. Otherwise I get 'network error - connection timed out'. With ssh in debug mode (-d -d -d) all is well and I can log in from my Windows 7 PC. Any ideas from anyone?
12.04 Grub Problem
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 10, 2012
I upgraded my Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04
I had both Ubuntu and Xp on the same Hdd.
After upgrade every thing went fine till i one day boot in to Xp.
After reaching Grub menu i selected Xp but the computer could not boot, since then every time i restarted the computer it could not boot. Even grub menu was not being displayed.
I used a live cd to reinstall grub and it was back to normal till i tried to boot in to Xp. and that problem started again. This time i installed Mint on another partition and i could boot in to Mint and Ubuntu but when i tried to boot in to Xp again there was the same problem.
It seems everytime i boot in to Xp the grub gets currupt or deleted. What can be done to solve this problem ? This problem started only after upgrading to 12.04.
