Need help with driver installation of Ralink rt5390 wireless on Oracle Linux
location: linux.com - date: October 20, 2011
The last time I looked at Linux was pre 2004. A friend set me up a Linux that booted from a 3 1/2 inch floppy and we did distributed computing work units on overclocked motherboards. I was impressed. I'd like to get back into Linux since it has had time to mature.
I tried VM and had no success. So I am finally able to get Oracle Linux to work on a dual boot configuration.
I can't read ntfs when I'm in Oracle Linux and a thumb drive with ntfs can't be read either. How do I format a thumb drive that will work to transfer back and forth from Linux to Windows 7? So I can tell you the screen info that will allow you to help me. At present I have the driver from Ralink rt5390 2011_0406_RT5390_RT5392_Linux_STA_V220.127.116.11_DPO_GPL.bz2 its compressed and I can transfer it to DVD to import to Linux or get a thumb drive working. I'm on an HP dv7-6157CL and I only have wireless from sprint to work with.
Thanks a bunch,

I have a NetGear MA521 wireless card with the XP RTL8180 driver found in the tutorial on this website. I used ndiswrapper to set it up, on Mandrake 10.1 I can ping my LAN fine, it looks like this:
ndiswrapper]# ping 192.168.1.47
PING 192.168.1.47 (192.168.1.47) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 192.168.1.47: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.150 ms

64 bytes from 192.168.1.47: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=0.146 ms
so that seems to work.
I however cannot ping google.com or visit anything outside my network. I get:

Help using Android SDK
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 12, 2010
I'm currently trying to get the android sdk setup with Netbeans 6.8 . I have downloaded the sdk and have gotten it setup in Eclipse with the ADT plugin, however I much prefer Netbeans since Eclipse is extremely buggy.
I have downloaded the nbandroid plugin and have setup a AVD, and have added the android platform, but when I go to create a new android application it either:
Doesn't recognize that I have added the android platformsSends me to an unknown file browsing menu that I have no idea what to do with. Whenever I select or try to add something it says the file already exists, or the file doesn't existDoesn't do anything
Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.

[SOLVED] Help : ns2.29 installation on ubuntu 10.04 Page 2
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 18, 2013
# 12 .
The test compilation I made this morning was on Ubuntu 10.10: For best result.
There appears to be some problems with the Ubuntu 10.04 patch command and
"mannasim-patch.diff". May fail say five out of six tries.
( Everything works, no errors at patching, but files are missing :
the mannasim/ directory, and some other files.)
I have uploaded a "patch package" to be used, when the patch fails on old Ubuntu:
Install, Ubuntu 10.04 :
a) tar xvf ns-allinone-2.29.3.tar.gz
b) cd ns-allinone-2.29/ && tar xvf mannasim-patched-ns229.tar.bz2
c) export CC=gcc-4.1 CXX=g++-4.1 && ./install
[SOLVED] zip file help needed
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 1, 2008
I have a folder full of mp3 files that are somehow zipped. When I double click on the folder, Archive Manager lists pops and lists individual mp3 files. I cannot play individual files. Right click on file, I get these choices:
Cut Delete, etc
I choose Extract. Error message pops up which reads:
need pk compat. v4.6 (can do v2.1)
Do I need to unzip in a Windows machine?
Little more info:
Right click on the folder > Property
Type: Zip archive
MIMI type: application/zip
Right click on the folder > Extract Here
error message pops up, same as above: need pk compat. v4.6 (can do v2.1)
Ubuntu 12.04 boot from SAN enable multipathing help needed
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 18, 2013
I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on a physcial server. The server needs to boot from from our SAN and use multipathing for failover. I also have some local storage that does not require multipathing and is configured using hardware RAID on /dev/sda1. I have blacklisted this device in /etc/multipath.conf
The server is using the SAN for it's boot device but multipathing does not appear to be working/enabled.
multipath -l and multipath -ll do not return any values. I have multipath-tools and multipath-tools-boot installed and have rebooted the server.
[Help] Ubuntu Server Dom0 in Xen...EFI boot help needed
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 14, 2013
Hi, I'm struggling to write a correct xen-4.2.2.cfg file to accompany my xen-4.2.2.efi to boot my Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 as Dom0.
Built Xen from source, put the built .efi file into the same dir as the grubx64.efi file, created a .cfg file and put it in the same location.
Boot works to a point, EFI says its using the configuration file and then errors say No Dom0 kernel image specified.
500MB - EFI Partition
500MB - /boot
60GB - LVM
/boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu contains the Ubuntu grub .efi installed by default. Also contains my xen-4.2.2.efi and .cfg.
Where should I be placing the Dom0 kernel image and initrd files? I've currently put them into the same location as the .efi?
xen-4.2.2.cfg looks like...
options=console=vga dom0_mem=1024M,max=1024M dom0_max_vcpus=1 loglvl=all noreboot
