I need help verifying Tails iso
location: linuxquestions.com - date: December 17, 2014
I guess I have a mental block here as I can't for the life of me figure out how to verify a tails iso using the sig file in Windows 7. I was told to use Kleopatra but the documentation is apparently above my head. Can someone maybe explain how to use Kleopatra to verify in terms my 5 year old mind can understand?

Hello guys i am wanting to find out if having tails installed on a usb flash drive, is it traceable? Meaning i am at work and they have an open wifi for guest. If one were to pop the usb flash drive into one of the computers here would one know that i ever used the tor network or any other OS like the one installed on the usb (tails)? Thanks ahead of time!!
Newbie wanting to use Tails Linux for the first time, needs help...
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 9, 2014
I am wanting to use Tails Linux for the first time. I have already downloaded the ISO image and also a cryptographic signature. I have read the instructions several times on their website already but they're not very clear on what to do with this signature. I opened the signature file and viewed it and it's a long string of jibberish. What am I supposed to do with it?
I already know how to burn an ISO image. I've just never used one of these signature things before.
[SOLVED] TAILS iso file verification help
- date: June 11, 2015
I am a complete newbie, and this has to do with verifying the TAILS iso which I have been told is a product of Linux and that this is the correct forum to post on. If this is not the case, please let me know and I will post where appropriate.
I have downloaded and tried to verify the TAILS iso file numerous times now (I believe 9?) using gpg4win and I keep getting this message:
"Signed on 2015-05-11 13:56 with unknown certificate 0xBA2C222F44AC00ED9899389398FEC6BC752A3DB6.
The validity of the signature cannot be verified."
I have never gotten what is displayed on the TAILS website, "Signed on … by [email protected]
(Key ID: 0xBE2CD9C1..."
A friend has told me that this message means I am getting man-in-the-middle attacks and someone is messing with my network??
I somewhat understand what a man-in-the-middle attack is but I can't imagine anyone monitoring me of all people, does this message actually mean that or could I just be doing something wrong
Help me choose a dual (android/ubuntu) bootable tablet
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: December 13, 2011
I've finally decided to give up my 2007-era laptop and buy one of those shiny new tablet computers that are all the rage.
There are a few things that are critical for me:
- Ability to run Android and Ubuntu! Either dual-boot or Android from within Ubuntu. I won't pay money for anything where I can't have complete root.
- 1GB RAM or more
- Ports, ports, ports: USB port, SD port, headphone port
- Wifi and bluetooth
- Real 5 hours battery runtime
- Bright screen and durable, finger friendly glass (gorillaglass?)
- Well-built, durable and reliable
There are a few other things that are on my wishlist:
- Upgradeable RAM - 2 years from now, when 8GB of RAM costs $50, I'd like to upgrade.
- Full-size USB port rather than mini/micro USB
- Charges from USB - I dont want to carry a charger thats the same size as the tablet!
- Full size SD card slot - So that I can use the cards that I already have
I realize that I'm asking a lot, but I'm willing to pay. I prefer to stay under $500, but $1000 i
Help: Ubuntu vs Fedora?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: November 18, 2007
I see many using Ubuntu. Why? What is the essential difference between Ubuntu and Fedora?
Is it paid support?
Fewer releases over a given time?
A greater number of available packages?
Can I get a few brief comments? (I don't want to start a flame war.)

Help with Angstrom on Mini2440 (Nothings working tried all tutorials)
location: linuxquestions.com - date: March 30, 2011
This is my first attempt with embedded systems. My mini2440 is
completely down. I tried every tutorial available on the internet, but
nothing's happenening. I wanted to install Angstrom on
my mini2440 (1GB nand, X35, 3.5 inch display)
I tried all possible SD card boot methods. I can't find the right files and
nothing ever boots.
My last try was as follows:
>> FOR U- BOOT I FOLLOWED: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mini2440
Got u-boot from GIT>make>got the u-boot.bin
Boot machine from NOR
went to 'supervivi'
went to 'download vivi'
sent u-boot.bin via ./s3c
u-boot was recieved.
shifted the NAND/NOR switch
I got the MINI2440# prompt. U-boot working.
>> FOR ANGSTROM
I went through http://narcissus.angstrom-distribution.org/ to make an
image. I downloaded the tar file.
Untarred it, It had the entire rootfs
and in /boot/ it had an uImage file
rebooted machine in NOR mode
selected "download kernel"
HELP,Can't install anything but Ubuntu
location: linux.com - date: April 12, 2011
I'm somewhat of a newbie to Linux but have used it in the past and use the live CD's for data recovery. I recently tried installing Zorin OS 4, Linux Mint 10.0 and Ubuntu 10.10 and 9.1 on a fresh HDD and was only able to get Ubuntu 9.1 to install. These were all the 64bit versions. The Ubuntu 9.1 version was 32bit. When installing Zorin or Mint, it will start with the splash screen and then there is nothing on the screen. Here's my system:
AsRock 4coredual with VIA PT880 Pro/PT880 Ultra Chipsets
Intel quad core Q6600
2 gigs of DDR2 800
WD 320G RE3 HDD
Nvidia 512mb PCI express
My question to you experts is why will only Ubuntu 9.1 only install and not Zorin or Mint? Is it the 32bit vs the 64bit?
I really wanted to install Zorin.
