How to download the kdenlive manual page so I can run without wifi
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 9, 2015
I am running xubuntu 14.04 with kdenlive 0.9.10 (very recently installed) and khelpcenter4 installed. The Help function doesn't work (apparently it hasn't in a long time) so the only way to access the kdenlive manual is on-line at https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual . However, I often work without wifi (on airplanes, camping, etc) and would like to download the kdenlive manual page from the Internet. I tried with the following:
-e robots=off \
--domains https://userbase.kde.org \
However, I get only the index downloaded. I can't figure out why the wget recursive function won't work. At first I thought it was due to robot.txt, but I can find no reference to that. Any help appreciated.....
Here is the contents of the index that gets downloaded. It looks to me like it
Why my NFS server can run without portmap?
location: linuxexchange.com - date: January 1, 1970
I have learned from this Linux NFS-HOWTO that in order to setup a NFS server, the daemon portmap must be run first.
But why I cannot find any portmap process using ps aux | grep.
My system is Ubuntu 12.10 and I set up my NFS server under the instruction from SettingUpNFSHowTo.
How to select rtai so EMC2 CNC software can run
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 22, 2011
I used the Ubuntu software center to install EMC2 and rtai version 2.6.32-122 (typed "CNC" as software search string) I got the message: "EMC2 requires the real-time kernel 2.6.32-122-rtai to run. Before running EMC2, reboot and choose this kernel at the boot menu" As I didn't already have a windows partition, it doesn't go into a boot menu. I honestly don't know enough about Linux to tell if grub is even installed, or to check which kernel is currently running.

how to fix home permissions so I can log in again
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 28, 2008
ok have asked this in launchpad but I want to be assured of an answer since my combined errors cost me two whole days! I was told to use the rescue component of the alternated dvd for my ubuntu studio since I changed my /home permissions wrong and cannot log in anymore! I was told to use the command line but no furthur instructions so my question is are the appropriate steps included on the cd and if not what are they?
I know it has to do with chmod 644...since "$HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored) must be fixed.
Also for the future reference
if I sudo nautilus what is the right:
owner: is it my username? create and delete?
group: users or root? create and delete?
others: access files only?
and if I don't want other new users to see my home files can others: be left -----?
I'm tired of mucking around and making things worse!
Thanks in adv.
Note: I figured I post here cause file permissions errors...I feel like a noob!

Patching Wine so that I can run Diablo 3
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 15, 2012
So I'm trying to "patch" Wine so that I can resolve some issues I'm having with the D3 installer. Anyway, I have the patch files; I just need a step-by-step walkthrough of how to "patch" wine. REALLY step-by-step. I've searched this online and mostly what I've found is 3-4 year old forum posts that just don't apply anymore. Thanks in advance for any help and to re-iterate I really do need detailed help. For example until a few minutes ago I didn't know where Wine was located on my computer, so saying something like "open up your Wine directory" without providing detail might just get me stuck again. Thanks, Paul
