[SOLVED] ./defaultpolicy.sh error while installing ATI driver
location: linuxquestions.com - date: April 6, 2011
Hello,
I am trying to reinstall ATI propietary graphics driver fglrx on Xorg 1.10.0.901, but it always fails with (something similar to):
Code:
./default_policy.sh does not support version
default:v2:x86_64:lib32:none:[my kernel] make sure that version is correctly set by --iscurrentdistro
I am not sure what is it trying to tell me, neither I don't know why lib32 is in the list. (It's 64bit Gentoo system).
It used to work in past, but now I can't start X at all. Using my already installed driver produces Segmentation fault, X without any configuration stops on no devices found.
Thanks
EDIT: Alright, I just discovered that fglrx driver does not support higher versions of X.org than 7.6, and I have 1.10.0.901 version installed.
EDIT2: Actually, later I found out that my Xorg is supported by that driver, so I think it was the mess in packages&Xorg configuration which caused it. Nevermind...
