Image magick: takes too much time at linux server
location: linuxexchange.com - date: August 30, 2014
I am facing an issue with time taken by imagemagic to execute the commands on my server. I also tried to make thread control from 20(default) to 1 but, no improvements.
Here are some of the commands we fire and time took for them on server. Is there any way to reduce this execution time?

Suspend / Resume takes to much time and generates errors Kernel 3.12rc5
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 16, 2013
Hi,
I'm compiling new kernel and trying to update my slackware 13.37 and go to current.
Previous kernel version I used, was 3.9.9 and everything was working ok. After kernel change to 3.11.x/3.12.x I had problems with NVIDIA so I went to 331.13 just to have some fixes.
Now I have kernel 3.12-rc5 and everything looks promising except the suspend/resume prcedure.
After Resume my screen stays black for 3-5 seconds and than desktop (KDE) shows up.
If I rmmod iwldvm and iwlwifi, everything works without any problem. So I don't know if it's problem with a new iwlwifi driver and firmware 18.168.6.1 or sth else like bios command, power management, etc.
This is the info I can find in my syslog:

Mounting device taking too much time in Dreamlinux
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 26, 2007
I installed Dreamlinux 2.0 on my Thinkpad 600e (333 MHz, 6 GB, 96 MB). It looks beautiful, and it booted up much faster than Fluxbuntu (I triple boot with Fluxbuntu 6.10 and W2K). I have yet to get the sound working. I've read about a script to do that, but it was designed for Ubuntu, so I don't know if it will work. Maybe anyone out there have tried it?
The only problem I have from having Dreamlinux as my main OS (instead of the Fluxbuntu) is that mounting any device is taking so much time. I opened mnt directory from rox, and it took about 5 minutes to display the devices.
Oh yeah, I also can't get my LAN/modem PCMCIA card to work (I have Xircom 10/100 56K card). It's working well in Fluxbuntu and W2K.
Can anyone help me? I've tried searching Dreamlinux forum, but aside from the language barrier (I don't speak Portuguese), my problems apparently haven't been mentioned
Android studio takes too much memory
location: linuxexchange.com - date: May 26, 2015
I had installed Android Studio 1.0 RC 2. I have 4GB of RAM installed, but after starting Android Studio and launching Android Emulator, more than 90% of physical memory has been used by only these two. Is there is any way to reduce this memory use? Due to this memory issue, I can't open other applications at the same time.
Extracting file using 7Zip is taking too much time
location: linuxexchange.com - date: April 5, 2014
I am trying to extract a ZIP folder using 7-Zip from the command line:
7z x "%BackupFileDestination%" -o"%ExtractDestinationDir%"
It is taking too much time to do so. It is even hanging on a few files. Which switch is available that can make the extraction quick like the one for compression -mx5?
please wait...
