Amazon MP3 downloads from cloud player
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: October 4, 2012
I used to buy albums from the Amazon MP3 store via the link in Banshee. Since Amazon have introduced their cloud player, this doesn't work any more. Songs are automatically added to the Cloud Player and you can only download them one at a time as Amazon's downloader doesn't work in linux.
I'm running UBUNTU 12.04.

Cloud Storage Information
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 28, 2012
I am in the research phase for a possible presentation on Cloud Drives and Cloud Storage. Primarily I am looking for file storage services, and not backup services like Crashplan, Mozy or Carbonite.
I know there are many, many storage services out there, like Dropbox, SkyDrive, SpiderOak, UbuntuOne, SugarSync, Wuala, iCloud etc. but I would like to hear what services you:Know of and heard positive or negative thingsUse yourself or have experience with (even through work, friends, etc.)Like and why (pro's AND con's)
Some of these do not work with Linux (e.g. SkyDrive and SugarSync), and some of these work with Smartphones (iOS and Android). I want to hear about them because my audience uses Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone/iPad (and one Windows 7 Phone user).
Unfortunately I do not have an Android or iOS so I don't know anything about how Cloud drives work with these devices.
So any advice, experiences or knowledge you can pass along would be great!
LXer: Has Ubuntu One Lost The Personal Cloud Market?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 26, 2012
Published at LXer:
Google recently announced its Google Drive which is clearly positioned as a competitor to iCloud, SkyDrive or alternative to services like Dropbox or semi-open source Spider-Oak. A lot of Linux users are upset as there is no client for Linux at the moment. The good news is Google Drive will be coming to Linux soon. That doesn't mean that Linux users were cloud deprived. Almost every cloud solution has its Linux client, including Dropbox and Spider-Oak, and excluding Ubuntu One. Then we have ownCloud for those who want complete control over their cloud. That makes one wonder what future holds for Ubuntu One, Canonical's personal cloud offering?

Jolicloud w/o the Cloud?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 11, 2010
I've got a dell mini 10 that I upgraded to 10.04 and now have been facing countless problems with the poulsbo driver. I currently boot to a black screen with no discernible way to even get to a command prompt to try and fix anything...
So- I've been reading a lot about the new Jolicluod netbook os, so I created a live usb stick and tried it out. So far, everything seems to work great, so I'd like to try it out. My only issue is, I have no need for any of its cloud features. It totally doesn't apply to the way I use my computer at all. Serves me no purpose...
Now is there a way to use it w/o needing any of its cloud features? What are the pros and cons of both creating a new account or using my facebook account to log in?
