Firefox 3 Problems running online java games
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: November 21, 2008
Is there anyone else here who plays on-line games at Pogo.com? If so, I would really like some feedback.
Computer is Toshiba Satellite P205-S6237.
I upgraded (upgraded, not reinstalled) from Gutsy to Hardy about a month ago. As a part of the upgrade, Firefox was upgraded from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3.0.3. Immediately after the upgrade, the games would no longer consistently load and run. I get wildly varying results. Sometimes the game window opens and just stalls, sometimes Firefox just closes, and occasionally the game will actually load and run. But the most common result is that the game window will open and immediately after the "game applet started" message, I get a "game applet death" message and it just sits there. Firefox is not locked up. I can close the game window or change sites or whatever.
At first, I thought it might be a problem with some preferences left over from Firefox 2. So I created a new user with a clean /home directory, but it made

moving windows save games[users/.../mydocuments/savegames etc...]
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 26, 2012
Hello everyone! After spending almost 2 years reading over these forums I am ready to wipe my machine and change to Linux....I have 2 hangups that im curious about before I start and I hope you guys can point me in the right direction as I haven't found a good answer on here, I'm sure its here and if you just link me to it that would be awesome too!
My questions are, when I completely eliminate windows and start using wine where to I put all my saved games from the mydocuments folder to get my games to recognize them? Also a lot of my games I have in .iso format that I must mount to a "virtual drive" to run them...I am about to start the process now and I have the mydocuments folder backed up.
Thanks in advance guys!
Sound delay in flash? (youtube videos, games, etc)
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 14, 2012
I've recently installed ubuntu 11.1 on my pc, dual booted with windows 7
I've installed flash player and anything that uses flash will have a 2-3 second sound delay. For example I'm on youtube, I play a video; whilst the video plays immediately the sound starts about 2 seconds later, if I were to adjust the volume it would adjust 2 seconds after I've changed it, if I pause the video the video pauses immediately but the sound takes an extra 2 seconds to stop. This goes for flash games to.
Anything that doesn't use flash, e.g. music on my computer etc... syncs perfectly fine.
I have literally gone trough every single post I could find on google and they have all the same issue's as me but no solution to it
Does any one have any idea how to fix this?
(my main browser is google chrome but the bug is in all web browsers / anything that uses flash)
