I don't suppose there is a linux version of Star Wars Rebellion or any way to play it on linux? Does anyone know where I might download this game for linux or even windows if I must? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards and fairly new to Linux also. I was curious to know if there is currently any way to get Star Wars Galaxies running on Linux. I've tried installing it through Wine to no avail. Any help is much appreciated.

Star Wars Best of PC, KotOR Install Problems
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 10, 2007
Okay, so I have WoW working flawlessly in Edgy with the beta NVidia graphics drivers. I have both Wine and Cedega installed. I bought the Star Wars The Best of PC collection a while ago, and I'd like to get KotOR running in Ubuntu. But, when I try to run the setup program from the CD (with Wine, specifically) I get the following error:
Error Number: 0x80040708
Description: Unable to create required engine components, check whether you have appropriate privileges to create COM components.
Setup will now terminate.
This error is, I think part of the setup and not a Wine error (although I really could be wrong - I haven't used Wine enough to know one way or the other). When I attempt to install with Cedega I don't even get an error before it just closes down the setup program. I haven't been able to track anything down about it. Any thoughts?
Play Star Wars: The Old Republic without patched WINE

here is small application i wrote based on original KUSER_SHARED_DATA patch for wine.
Since it's normal windows application, you don't need to patch your wine anymore, all you need is wine from repo.
You can get it from here:
$ wget -O ~/.wine/drive_c/swtor_fix.exe https://github.com/aljen/swtor_fix/raw/master/swtor_fix.exe
Or you can get source code for it and build it yourself from https://github.com/aljen/swtor_fix
How to run:
open two terminalson first one, run:
$ WINEDEBUG=-all wine c:\swtor_fix.exe
switch to second one and run:
$ WINEDEBUG=-all wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Electronic\ Arts/BioWare/Star\ Wars\ -\ The\ Old\ Republic/launcher.exe
Star Wars KOTOR w/WINE troubles
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: March 3, 2010
I have been trying to get Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to work in wine. I have been using the PlayOnLinux frontend and am using Karmic. I was able to install the game without too much trouble with the playonlinux installer, but I did have to use the no-cd crack to get it to load the menu.
My problem is that when I try to run the game (through the playonlinux menu) I will see the credit screens and then a black screen or I will just hear the sounds of the credit screen and then get a messed up menu screen with a crude 3d man standing cross armed and a menu that is unresponsive to mouse or keyboard. Sometimes I don't get to see the credits and the menu shows up black.
I am not very well versed in how to use wine as this is my first attempt so please be patient with me.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic PlayonLinux
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: June 24, 2010
I just installed it using PlayonLinux, which worked just fine, but as soon as you start it, it does a hardware check and does not recognize my graphics card. Additionally it is giving me trouble with my sound card, which actually does meet the requirements. To be honest I expected that kind of stuff to be looked after by PlayonLinux, after all it has all the required settings for it to run.
Anyway, you can see the error in the screenie, hope somebody can help.
Edit: I forgot to mention that it is Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, not the first one.
