MySQL uses CPU 161% @ Ubuntu Linux Server 12.04.1
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 11, 2013
when i check the running-processes I notice:
CPU load averages: 8.76 (1 mins) , 10.82 (5 mins) , 11.32 (15 mins)
CPU type: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz , 2 cores
ID Owner CPU Command
943 mysql 161 % /usr/sbin/mysqld
When I check the memory use:
Real memory: 3.45 GB total / 2.70 GB free Swap space: 4 GB total / 4 GB free
ID Owner Size Command
943 mysql 383568 kB /usr/sbin/mysqld
For some reason the MySQL-program uses a lot of CPU. It uses about 161% of CPU.
Is there a way that i can modify MySQL to reduce the CPU-use?

location: ubuntuforums.com - date: February 28, 2012
Hello, I was planning on installing Linux Mint 12 and Ubuntu 11.10 on a computer that currently has Windows 7. I love Ubuntu because of its support network (i.e. ubuntuforums!).

I am just getting started with Linux and recently downloaded Ubuntu 11.10 as well as Linux Mint 12 Lisa. I got both versions (32 bit) with and without codecs. The first one I installed was Ubuntu on a legacy (2003)Dell running XP. The program booted up nice and walked me through the install which was pretty straightforward. I decided ti install along side XP . I do remember Grub being installed during this process. After installation was completed I shut down and rebooted. I did not get a prompt to select an OS however. It booted into windows. After trying a few things I decided perhaps Grub did not install properly and tried another install. This also did not work. My next step was to completely uninstall ubuntu . I learned a little about Linux partitions in this process. This I believe went well I even recovered the partition space and formatted it back to NTFS as well as deleting that partion and adding the space back to the primary drive.
I decided to now try installing Linux Mi
