Sony VAIO VPCF1190X shows "operating system not found" after install linux 14.04
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: May 25, 2014
My VAIO was originally running on Windows 7, but got tired of it and deicided to switch to linux system. When I installed ubuntu 14.04, I erased the previous OS. It works fine except that when I turn it on, it shows "operating system not found" every time. I have to press contrl+alt+delete in order to enter ubuntu. However, this issue does not occur if I restart the computer. It only occurs when I shut it down and turn it on. I've set BIOS to boot from hdd first and used recommended repair with boot repair app, but still won't resolve the issue. Any suggestions on what else I can do?

How do I revert back to my original python installation from Enthought Canopy on Mint Linux 14 64bit? [closed]
location: linuxexchange.com - date: June 27, 2013
I am attempting to uninstall Enthought Canopy (Linux 64-bit installation) from my Mint Linux KDE machine. The Enthought help file says to remove the ~/Canopy directory.
How do I remove the Canopy directory from my $PATH? This is my $PATH:
I've searched my ~/.bashrc, ~/.profile, /etc/profile, and /etc/bash.bashrc files, and there is no reference to /home/steve/Enthought/Canopy_64bit/User/bin.
How do I replace the $PATH value that was set by my Canopy installation with the default Python installation from my machine? Thanks.
