And also please mention the process in step wise... I think I have to connect my virtual box to my wifi adapter but I don't know how & I have tried to connect my external wifi adapter to my virtual box but I have received only failure...
[SOLVED] scp/ssh to cygwin server from linux server without password prompt...
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 16, 2011
I've seen how to do this from native linux native server to linux native server. Not a problem. My question has to do with ssh/scp exchange of key exchange between a windows cygwin server and a linux server.
There seems to be no /home/root/.. to hold the key exchange files. I've tried this between a cygwin server with a /home/administrator/.. subdirectory and the /root subdirectory on the linux server. Is this how I should do this?
Someone else set this up between these two servers earlier but forgot to document how it was done in his notes.
I don't want to break the existing systems by setting up the key generation incorrectly on the functioning pair's of servers.
Help/validation would be appreciated. Thanks!

MySQL Password in Crontab
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 23, 2009
I want to execute a series of MySQL procedures using Cron, but I have a concern. To execute the procedures a MySQL password has to be in the Crontab file, but how secure is this file on the server? Can it be hidden or protected so only a (Linux) root account can access it?
I am a bit new to Linux so sorry if this is a no brainer....
Crack cryptsetup password
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 4, 2013
I forgot cryptsetup password of /dev/sdd4.
cryptsetup -v luksOpen /dev/sdd4 sdd4
Device /dev/sdd4 is not a valid LUKS device.
Command failed with code 22: Device /dev/sdd4 is not a valid LUKS device.
I want to crack the cryptsetup password, but it is not asking the passphrase itself. I want to know why it is not asking passphrase and how to crack cryptsetup password.
Trying to crack a password on a pdf ...
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: August 12, 2010
Hi all! I'm trying to crack a password on a pdf document. I have been using pdfcrack from the repositories but when I run the command pdfcrack -f filename I get the error:
Encryption not detected (is the document password protected?)
I get the same error if I add the -o or -u option. Does anybody know how to do this? Strangely, I can get into the file just by opening it in foxit in Windows, but when I save it elsewhere it is still password protected, so I need the real password. (Can't print to pdf in foxit in Windows)
where to start when wanting to crack a password?
location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 12, 2012
I have this file I've uploaded to some server few years ago.
just in case someone will break into that server, I've used some archive program and choose cbz file format and set a password.
anyway, i now need to open the file but i can't remember the password.
It's not life or death situation, it's just something private and nostalgic and i can probably get that file from some external hd i have, i tend to backup allot.
but out of curiosity,
in real life situation, how do you crack an archive with password?
is there a way to determine the type of encryption? i'm guessing that this is pretty important to start the cracking.
and after that, can i use john for this type of mission?
i know all my password protected file will always be at least 8 characters long and i don't use capitol/spacial characters.
so that's a start.
but i do need need some first direction
I need to crack BIOS password
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 27, 2009
I have recently added 2GB of Corsair DDR3 Memory (PC 12800) 1600 MHz and I noticed in all the software that the RAM is under clocked at 1066MHz. I need to go back into the BIOS and change it but I am asked for a password as soon as I try to get into the BIOS. If I don't provide the password I can still get in and see the BIOS, I just can't save the changes. I read online and I see methods of either typing something into the command prompt or removing some kind of jumper on the board. I already tried popping out the battery for a few minutes but the password is still there. I run on an Intel DX48BT2.
