location: ubuntuforums.com - date: January 15, 2011
Hello everyone! Again i have questions for you >D! I'm trying to get my mac to boot using the EFI boot loader with grub. I have compiled and made a binary for a x64 EFI boot, and it successfully works! Now here is the problem, I have NO IDEA how to make a grub.cfg for it to use to boot. I'm plaining on doing a full Linux install i just need this to be ready to boot the OS when it is installed. Can anyone make me one/tell me how to make one? Or tell me what i need to do after i install ubuntu. Anyone got any input?

[Help] Ubuntu Server Dom0 in Xen...EFI boot help needed
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: July 14, 2013
Hi, I'm struggling to write a correct xen-4.2.2.cfg file to accompany my xen-4.2.2.efi to boot my Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 as Dom0.
Built Xen from source, put the built .efi file into the same dir as the grubx64.efi file, created a .cfg file and put it in the same location.
Boot works to a point, EFI says its using the configuration file and then errors say No Dom0 kernel image specified.
500MB - EFI Partition
500MB - /boot
60GB - LVM
/boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu contains the Ubuntu grub .efi installed by default. Also contains my xen-4.2.2.efi and .cfg.
Where should I be placing the Dom0 kernel image and initrd files? I've currently put them into the same location as the .efi?
xen-4.2.2.cfg looks like...
options=console=vga dom0_mem=1024M,max=1024M dom0_max_vcpus=1 loglvl=all noreboot
Puppy Linux and Ubuntu dual boot help please
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 3, 2011
Hi every one.
I currently have Ubuntu 10.04 installed and I am trying to install Puppy Linux (Dual Boot).
I believe Puppy is successfully installed but it does not appear in the GRUB Menu.
By the way I installed puppy on the second partition(ext3) of my first hard drive(Windows is on the first and Ubuntu takes up my entire second drive)
I have searched for tutorials related to GRUB and they keep referring to a file called menu.ls or something like that which I can't seem to find.
Anyway, I'm sure this is a simple fix I just don't know how to add Puppy to the GRUB boot menu. Help would be much appreciated.
Thank you for reading.

This is the first time im installing linux so need a bit of help.
Im trying to get my multibooting working to no avail. I Have 3 hard drives that im aiming to setup like so:
-Windows 7 (to be upgraded to 8)
-Windoos 7 (typoed so i could tell them apart)
-Remaining space Storage
I have currently got the 1tb and 320gb working. Its boots to the 320Gb OS X disk and from the chameleon bootloader i can boot OS X or Windows 7.
Being over 2.2Tb i used UEFI to re-install Windoos to 3Tb. Went fine, could boot to it either directly by selecting the hard drive on boot or from OS X bootloader.
When i installed a Linux distribution it went wrong from there on. (I tried ubuntu first but have also tried with fedora). It would give some grub(?) errors then boot into fedora. The OS X bootloader wouldn't see any linux install though. The Chameleon Bootloader could still see windoos but would tell me bootmgr is missing. I to

location: linuxquestions.com - date: May 6, 2001
Alright. This is my set up that I spend 3 days still not getting a dual boot with Linux and win2k!!!
2 harddisks (1 scsi and 1 ide)
My win2k on scsi (NTFS). linux on ide (FAT).
both can boot if i switch the bios to start
from either scsi or ide drive. Now, i want to
be given an option during start up. [Either
from linux or win2k, i dont care.]
I tried all sorts of method given from the net that
people claimed to work. From LiLo(point to /dev/sda?),
to modifying win2k-boot.ini [with my 512 byte
linux.lnx file]. Du! All not working.Could some
wiseman/lady please spare some thoughts to help
me out? IF your configuration is similar to
mine, please email me on what's wrong. I'm really
frustrated with my 100 times re-booting.

I've been using Mandrake 9.2 for some time, and boy do I love it (or did love it)! I decided to shut down the OS to boot into windows to play some games, and to my suprise, I got a Black screen with "L 99 99 99 99" the 99's continued to fill the whole screen. Right, so I figure my hard drive is screwed. Luckily I found a boot rescue floppy I had made and got into bios and changed the boot order the the Hard drive last, so I could boot from the floppy. From there, the lil program on the floppy let me pick my os: Windows Xp, Linux ext2/3, and the linux swap. I can get into windows, but it wont let me boot into linux, it just fails. I got into windows and viewed my Mandrake Partition with Partition Magic 8.0, and I can view everything, from my home directory to my usr/src directory files... I just CANT boot into mandrake. I am, you can say Linux illiterate I guess, I've been using the nice gui KDE 3.1 in mandrake for 6 months. But using Linux has been an educational, awarding, f
Arch linux dual boot

I am curious about dipping my toes into arch linux and was wondering if a dual boot with a computer already running ubuntu would be possible, and if so how I would go about doing this.
