Error:pipeselectinterrupter: Too many open files, on OS LINUX

In my code,I used boost library,and get the error and occurs at the first time run in the boost::thread:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<boost::exception_detail::error_info_injector<boost::system::system_error> >'what():
pipe_select_interrupter: Too many open files.
I used ulimit and see the file discriptors is 300000 allowed,I think it can't be out of use.
The code throw the error :
CCohConnection *conn = new CCohConnection(this,CCohStack::GetIoService());
The constructor define:
CCohConnection::CCohConnection(ICohClient *pClient,boost::asio::io_service &io_service):
My program broke up in this constructor, and here is the ioservice definition:
static void Start();
Too many open files on system error?!
location: linuxquestions.com - date: July 22, 2002
I found that my ypserver was not letting me in. It gave some error about reading libs ( Don't remember correctly. But something like could not load dyn. libs). Morning I found these error messages (6000+ lines!)
Jul 22 08:26:26 kaveri nscd: 904: while accepting connection: Too many open files in system
Jul 22 08:26:28 kaveri portmap: warning: cannot open /etc/hosts.allow: Too many open files in system
Don't know what is going on. Is there a limit to max number of files that can be open at any given time?. If yes how do I overcome that?
[SOLVED] gparted error inotifyinit failed: Too many open files
location: linuxquestions.com - date: January 18, 2013
I have got error with gparted started from terminal:
inotify_init failed: Too many open files
I have read somewhere that is should be corrected by increasing of value of /proc/sys/fs/inotify
but there are three values:
which one is appropriate to increase ?
P.S. anyway, I have been expectring to increase some value of number of opened files , not those ones ;-)
Linxx8664 Error: 24 Too many open files

Are there any kernel parameters that MUST be changed after adding RAM?
On RHEL4 Update 4 I just increased my RAM from 4Gb to 16Gb. I have Oracle 11g running on this server. After the upgrade I can start the database fine, but no one can access it through sqlnet; they get this error:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment
Linux-x86_64 Error: 24: Too many open files
Additional information: 425986

I've increased the ulimit for the oracle user to 500000:
open files (-n) 500000
sysctl -a shows me
fs.file-nr = 17280 0 500000
a total count of open files from lsof (while the database is up and running) is 47,814.
I originally increased my Oracle SGA to 8Gb, but after encountering this problem I reset it back to 1Gb. Even at 1Gb I get the open files error. Please help!
libgtop2 error: "Too many open files"
location: linuxquestions.com - date: October 1, 2010
I have a while(1) loop, and the error is:
glibtop: open (/proc/stat): Too many open files
This error occurs after about a half hour to an hour of running.
I've tried running this multiple times, both with using glib_close() at the end of the loop, using glib_init() and glib_close() at beginning/end, and just using glib_init(). The strange thing is these have no effect on the actual glib_get functions.
Anybody familiar with libgtop and have a solution?
Reg Too Many Open Files in System Error
- date: November 25, 2003
I am having two instances of Oracle Application (Verion 11.5.9) installed
on Red Hat Linux Advanced Server 2.1. If I run one instance it is running
fine. But soon I start the second instance after some time I am getting an
error message as "Too Many Open Files". Upon encountering this error, even "ls"
command is not working. If I type ls on command prompt, it again throws me the
error as Too Many Open files. I tried changing limits in limit.conf file. But
it didnt help. Please let me know how I can overcome this problem. I am using
Oracle Account for login and running all oracle related services which is tied
with DBA group. Appreciate your early help.
