C++ get linux distribution name\version
location: linuxexchange.com - date: June 11, 2011
According to the question " How to get Linux distribution name and version? ", to get the linux distro name and version, this works:
On my system, it shows the needed output:
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Now, to get this info in C++, Qt4's QProcess would be a great option but since I am developing without Qt using std c++, I need to know how to get this info in standard C++, i.e. the stdout of the process, and also a way to parse the info.
Uptil now I am trying to use code from here but am stuck on function read().

JeOS 8.04 LTS... Where do I get 64bit version?
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: September 3, 2009
I'm experimenting with VMWare Server at the moment and I'm looking to try out the LTS version of JeOS as a 64bit guest.
However I can't find a 64bit version of JeOS anywhere
I've browsed right through http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/jeos/ and all the downloads appear to be i386
Am I being stupid here?
Where can I get a 64bit version?
Oh, I realise that from 8.10 onwards, JeOS is just an option on the Server install rather than a separate download. But I need to use 8.04 LTS for a particular product (Zimbra mail server)

Ubuntu Linux Kernel understanding version numbers
location: ubuntuforums.com - date: April 15, 2013
Here are some (probably dumb) questions:
Does kernel 2.6.32-46 include kernel 2.6.37 (i.e. everything between x.x.32 and x.x.46)?
What is the a difference between kernel 2.6.32-46 and 2.6.37?
Just trying to get something to work (see https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloa...-stack-release)
Thanks in advance.
